Title: Forget Me Not
Author: Allison Whitmore
Genre: Young Adult, Historical Romance
Release Date: September 14, 2015
Theodora “Teddi” Donovan and Calvin Wynne have always hated each other. They didn’t have a choice after Teddi’s bootlegger father killed Calvin’s and left them both orphaned. The scandal has fueled gossip in quiet, quaint Brookhurst, New York, for over a decade. When a friendship develops between them as teenagers, they are ridiculed and shunned by the strict society that dictates life in their town. As they grow older, friendship turns into love, and Teddi and Calvin have to choose between their future and the scepter of their past. Spanning continents and decades, Forget Me Not is a coming-of-age story about truth, self-reliance, and the freeing power of love.
I have always liked period pieces and love stories. There’s just something about delving into the past and exploring what used to be. It’s a lot of fun.
2. When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process(outline, plot, character names, editing, etc)?
I do really enjoy the portion of revising that includes smoothing out theme and character arc, but my favorite part of writing is creating dialogue. It really brings out a scene to me.
3. When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
Historical, romantic suspense, chick lit, fantasy
4. If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
I love writing with my co-authors, Erin Virginia, Grace Arden and my latest, Joseph Woodward. They are all up in-coming new authors.
5. Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?
I’ve always wanted to write, but I think I really knew that it could be a thing for me when I was about eleven. Before that, I just created movies and plays and had friends act everything out.
