When the past begins to threaten their future, Avi and Noah must fight for their present. But can they battle against their enemy without descending deeper into danger?

1. What is the biggest influence/interest that brought you to this genre?
First, thank you so much for having me on your blog. Second, GREAT question. I love bad boys and those who are unapologetic about who they are and the choices they consciously made. That’s what led me to write about this kind of hero in the romantic suspense genre that more times than not feature the SEALs, the police officers, etc. (as they should) but I wanted to add another level of intrigue to the genre.

2. When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process (outline, plot, character names, editing, etc)?
You’re rolling with the great questions (LOL). I love the backstories. Because my heroes tend to be anti-heroes, creating compelling backstories that draws the readers on their sides is integral to my creative process. I know you didn’t ask but I HATE the editing process (LOL). It is necessary but it’s a pain.

3. When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
I’m pretty open to genres. What intrigues to one-click and read is the hero and heroine’s story. Whether I’m reading a romantic comedy or new adult novel, I want to be drawn into the characters’ lives, both main and secondary.

4. If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
She wasn’t an author in the traditional sense but I would’ve loved the opportunity to pen a novel with my grandmother. She was a quiet woman, unassuming who went about her daily life of loving her family but there were many moments when she was alive that I knew tales I could never imagine ran deep in her.

5. Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?
I don’t know if I’ve always wanted to become a writer. As many other authors, my experience is no different. I started young, wrote a very intertwined play about death, crime and love when I was a teen, submitted it, and never heard anything about it (lol). Then, life got in the way – college, marriage, kids. It wasn’t until my early thirties that I decided to give writing a shot again. I am still learning, still fine-tuning my voice but it’s an exciting journey.

Author Bio:
Allyn Lesley writes real stories about real people.

As a teen, Allyn lost herself in the pages of some of Romance’s heavyweights, trusting that a happy ever after was just around the corner. In Allyn’s own writing journey, as   in life, she’s learned that people don’t always experience recovery and restoration  after a fall. Her stories speak to the gritty side of life where the right choice isn't always easily identified and happiness not quickly gained.

For the first time in a long time, I had an itch to do something ridiculous—two things, in fact. One was the reason I was sitting in the back of a musty old van. The other might just be the solution to my Holly problem.

At least I hoped so, because while my mind should have been racing with thoughts of my upcoming wedding, it wasn’t. Instead, I was thinking of my best friend. Problem was, no matter how I launched my plan to help Holly move beyond her commitment issue with Burdick, it wasn’t going to go over well. And the more I thought about her, the more I dreaded the growing possibility of a headache. I’d just gotten over a nasty headache and was now attempting to shake off the likelihood of another when the van rolled to a stop and the driver’s voice muttered in the distance.

“We’re here.”

Okay, Jess. You’ve got your plan and it’s a good one.

I was about to remind myself to stick to said plan when the driver hopped out and moved to my side of the van, his open door ushering in a blast of autumn air that chilled my skin. I shivered and scooted to the edge of my seat, waiting for what was to come next. The shrill of metal sliding over metal pierced my ears as the door slid open, and rough skin wrapped a secure hold on my wrist. This was it.
“End of the line.” His gruff tone registered somewhere between the brief time it took him to pull me out and when his tall, burly features came into full view. He snickered as I pulled the hem of my pullover down and worked to smooth it out. Judging by the way his eyes scanned up my body, I presumed his outburst had everything to do with my appearance. After all, this was the first time I’d pieced together an outfit for such an outdoorsy occasion. Eventually, he calmed and took my hand, turning it palm up. “You don’t want to forget this.”

Instinctively, my fingers clasped a tight grip around the cold steel as I stood, staring down at the black metal, hoping I’d do it right. I’d never held a gun before. They all made me nervous. Fact was, with a gun in the wrong hands, things could quickly turn ugly.

I knew all about ugly.

Drawing my attention his way, the driver stretched a tattooed arm, pointed a finger, and then offered his last words of advice. “Never give up.”

I swallowed back a lump of fear, absorbing a deeper meaning of the phrase, and took off running. For what seemed like forever, I ran up and down hills, climbed over a few sizeable rocks, jumped a tiny brook, and pushed forward until I needed to recharge and bring my thoughts back into focus.

At best guess, I’d been in the woods for several hours, alternating between steady jogs in the direction I was supposed to go and quick respites to catch my breath. I wasn’t sure exactly where I was, but as far as I could see, there was nothing but dense forest—and me. Panting, I leaned against a tree and listened to the rustle of withered leaves moving with the breeze.

One thing was comforting: I hadn’t run into anyone. Yet.

Crack.

Cover Reveal: Infected Waters: A Titantic Disaster by Alathia Paris Morgan

Title: Infected Waters: A Titanic Disaster
Author: Alathia Paris Morgan
Genre: Paranormal Historical, Horror
Expected Release Date: September 7, 2016
Summary:
Everyone knows the tale of the Titanic…a doomed voyage…here is what actually happened on April 14, 1912. Murder, chaos, and the undead threaten to sink the ship faster than any iceberg.

As a nurse, Nora Ryan was prepared for the common illnesses, but what she discovers instead is an infection modern medicine has yet to name.

Head steward, Jonathan Davis was not expecting to meet Nora and he certainly wasn’t expecting to fight a deadly infection alongside her. As the first victim of this strange illness dies and passengers are rapidly becoming infected; these two strangers must find a way to stop these undead creatures from taking over the ship.

The trip home from England to America becomes hectic for the Lambert family when they overhear startling rumors from their second class stateroom. People are dying, and the dead are taking anyone they can sink their teeth into with them. Will their family make it to their destination or will they be caught in the rising tide of infection that intends to leave no living being behind?

“What happened?” Jonathan pulled her closer to help keep them both on their feet.

“Our patient died. I need to let the captain know so he can decide what to do about the body.” Nora took a deep breath to steady herself and instead inhaled Jonathan’s cologne.

“I’ll get him for you. Go back and stay with the body until we can get there.” …..

“What do you suggest we do with his body?” Nora asked Captain Smith, hoping he had an idea.

Exchanging glances with Jonathan, he informed them, “I believe we should burn his body. There is no one to identify it, and if we wait until we land, the infection from him might move to some of the passengers. It’s a chance I’m not willing to take. Has anyone else been stricken?”

“Just one crewman, sir. He isn’t doing so well.” Jonathan affirmed.

“It doesn’t seem to be an airborne illness. Only through the exchange of blood or saliva,” Nora added, hoping to be helpful….

“Nurse, I want you to keep me informed about our crewman or any other things that seem suspicious to you. If this is what I’m afraid it is, it will still manage to affect everyone, no matter how cautious we are in preventing it.”

“I understand, and will let you know of the slightest change in our passengers.”

“That is all I ask. Thank you so much for your service.” Tipping his hat, the captain left to return to his duties.

Jonathan passed the captain as he returned with his two roommates, Timothy and Brad.

“Okay, boys. We are going to wrap the body up tightly in the sheet so people don’t know what’s going on.”

“Here’s the stretcher. He’s all ready for you.” Nora stood back as the three men transferred the body over.

“When you get downstairs, make sure you throw him into the fire, along with the wrappings. We don’t want anything to spread.” Jonathan instructed the men.

Hurrying to open the door for them, Nora stood to the side. “Do you need me to come with you for anything?”

“Nah. We got it, pretty nurse.”

“Nothing we can’t handle.” Brad grinned at her, almost dropping his end of the stretcher.

Jonathan led the way through the corridors and over to the crew staircase, staying ahead to redirect anyone in their path.

“Even dead, this guy is super heavy. Wonder what he ate for dinner?” Brad asked.

“A fat man from the feel of it,” Timothy answered, laughing.

“Shh. We are supposed to keep this quiet, gentlemen.”

“Sorry, boss,” they whispered apologetically.

The door to the engine rooms kept the amount of noise contained and partitioned away from the passengers.

Concerned with how heavy it was and where they should set it down, Brad and Timothy never saw the body sit straight up until a hand landed on Timothy’s thigh.

“Bloody hell.” Timothy screamed as the infected man’s mouth latched onto his leg, its teeth tearing out a chunk of flesh.
