I first became familiar with SA Meade when I read her historical tale Tournament of Shadows so when An Unexpected Truth crossed my path, I jumped at the opportunity to try out one of her contemporary stories, I wasn't disappointed. Brendan trains horses and Adam has horses that need training and when their paths meet there is chemistry everywhere. But life is never that easy, Adam has secrets that could destroy what they start before it even has a decent chance to begin.
I won't touch on Adam's secrets or his past because I don't want to give anything away but I will say it had me sitting on the edge of my seat and if I was a nail-biter I'd be writing this review with bloody fingertips. You want to trust Adam, you need to trust Adam, but should you? Should Brendan? Well, as I often say, for that answer you will have to read An Unexpected Truth for yourself because if I told you where would the fun of discovery be? I loved how the secondary characters, mainly Grace and Chris, added to the story they aren't just fillers.
So I say give An Unexpected Truth a read because sometimes in life it is the unexpected truths of reality that teach us the most and bring us the greatest joys, even if they don't seem to at the time. Adam and Brendan's journey has certainly cemented SA Meade's place on my authors-to-watch list and I look forward to checking out more of her backlist as well as future works.
