Blog Tour: Livingston by JM Dabney

Title: Livingston
Author: JM Dabney
Series: Trenton Security #1
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: March 6, 2018
Cover Design: Reese Dante
Summary:
He was the Beast without the escape clause.

Francis “Liv” Livingston was a beast. No matter if he wore a perfectly tailored suit or if he was in his tactical gear, people avoided looking at him. He was always first to volunteer for the jobs only a person with a death wish wanted. Tomorrows weren’t guaranteed. His boss had come to him and told him he needed him for a job. Linus knew the jobs he liked, but when he opened the file, it all went to hell.

Beauty was only skin deep.

Fielding Haskell made his way in the world on his looks. He’d earned his first film role before he could read a script. He didn’t want the fame. He wanted to go to college. He wanted a man who didn’t look at him and see how pretty he was. Unfortunately, a so-called fan only cared how attractive he was, and it earned him a personal bodyguard and a vacation. He looked forward to the break until he met the man in charge of his safety and wondered if the danger he left was worth dealing with a sudden attraction to a man who was colder than ice.

He disconnected the call and slipped his phone back into his pocket.

“That for me?”

“Yes, sir, I didn't mean—” Fielding swallowed hard. “I wasn't listening.”
The boy closed the distance between them quickly and thrust the mug at him. He caught it before it made a trip to the ground.

“Black. I noticed you didn't, um, put anything in your coffee. Is it strong enough?”

He hesitated with the mug at his lips. He swore the boy was holding his breath waiting for his approval. Taking a sip, it was perfect, but he took his time to see how long Fielding would keep himself from breathing. Nothing much amused him anymore, but that was doing it for him.
During the time the boy was in his home he'd picked up on little things about him. Fielding's need for approval. The boy's natural submissiveness. Fielding was also downright domestic.

“Not bad.”

“I'll do better. Are you going somewhere?”

“No, not for a few more days. We’ll head to the office for a check-in, and see what Linus’ boy, Hunter, found out about your stalker.” Interesting, the stalker comment hadn’t earned a flinch, but the moment he said boy, the kid’s perfectly arched brows rose. “Make a list of anything you need. We’ll hit the store before we come back.”

“Can I get candy and chips?”

The question took him by surprise. Fielding didn’t look like anything fattening ever passed his pretty lips.

“Do you want candy and chips?”

“So much.”

He hid his smile behind his mug at the boy’s longing sigh. He’d noticed the boy didn’t eat very much, not enough in his opinion, but Fielding wasn’t big. Tiny compared to him, probably not for normal sized men.
“We’ll see then.”

“Yes, sir.”

One more submissive little yes, sir with averted eyes and the boy was going to find himself on his knees worshiping his cock. He was too old for the boy, but his dick didn’t seem to have a problem with it. What made it harder to resist Fielding was a natural submissive born to be someone's boy. He was inclined to dominate and to have the perfect boy in front of him was more temptation than he'd ever experienced.

He needed to get Fielding as far away from him as possible and soon.

What is the biggest influence/interest that brought you to this genre?
At a time when I was questioning my continued endeavor of writing I decided that there was something lacking in the genre. MM body positive stories. I wrote BBW (big beautiful women) in the MF and FF genres, and I wondered why I hadn’t thought to write larger male characters. It started with a book I hadn’t even contemplated publishing. Berzerker (Twirled World Ink) starred a fat (I don’t see the word fat as an insult. It’s simply an adjective.), hairy man getting his happily ever after. That’s what brought me to the MM Romance Genre. I had one simple goal when I came to writing MM as with every other genre I write in that everyone no matter shade, shape or size can be the star of their very own romance.

When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process (outline, plot, character names, editing, etc)?
Writing the blurb. I know a lot of writers/authors who loathe the blurb, but I can’t start a book without one. I don’t plot or outline, I just open a new document and write a blurb, after that I let the words flow. What happens—happens.

When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
Strangely, I don’t read much romance. I’m a Science Fiction and Horror fan since I read my first Lovecraft. I prefer books by Irvine Welsh, Kerouac, Bukowski, Burroughs, classics such as Austen, Dante, okay, okay, this was a loaded question. I’m intrigued by words and the way they’re crafted, so, my genre choices are typically chosen by mood. Sometimes it’s a Naked Lunch kind of day and others it’s Pride and Prejudice.

If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
I’m currently working on some co-written stories with Tracey Steinbach, she also writes as Tracey Michael. We’ve known each other for years and our styles mesh so well that it’s seamless to write with her.

Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?
I’ve wanted to write since I was 8 and I wrote the worse poem in the history of poetry. That began a 32 year love affair with the written word. I spent a lot of time with grandparents who read every day and I think the stories I read had a major effect on me. Publishing my works were a concept never thought I’d ever do it, but I found some friends online who read my short stories and told me I needed to publish. So, I’ve always wanted to write, but it wasn’t until my thirties that I seriously considered the possibility.

Author Bio:
J.M. Dabney is a multi-genre author who writes mainly LGBT romance and fiction. She lives with a constant diverse cast of characters in her head. No matter their size, shape, race, etc. she lives for one purpose alone, and that’s to make sure she does them justice and give them the happily ever after they deserve. J.M. is dysfunction at its finest and she makes sure her characters are a beautiful kaleidoscope of crazy. There is nothing more she wants from telling her stories than to show that no matter the package the characters come in or the damage their pasts have done, that love is love. That normal is never normal and sometimes the so-called broken can still be amazing.

Promo Tour: Crazy Woman Creek by Ryan Jo Summers

Title: Crazy Woman Creek
Author: Ryan Jo Summers
Genre: Western Romance
Box Set Release Day: January 30, 2016

Summary:
Texas rancher Dawson Lonigan is out hunting stray cattle when he finds a lone woman. Suffering from amnesia, she has no clue who she is, or where she came from. Dawson invites her to stay on the ranch to recuperate, where she is quickly smitten with his young daughter...and the handsome, kind-hearted rancher.

Over time, Dawson becomes quite attracted to "Faith", as he calls her and hopes he can convince her to stay, even if she someday gets her memories back.

Hearing talk of some out-of-town men hanging about, Faith rushes to find them, certain they hold the key to unlocking who she is. Too late, she finds out the truth. Dawson found her once... can he find her again...in time?

“Is your door broken?”

He jumped at her soft question. Head jerking up, he realized he had not heard her because she was stocking-footed. She wore green plaid knickers and a blood red top. Hell’s bells, had he really picked that out? Mercy! She looked like someone’s granny fixing to go golfing. What a waste of a good piece of land. And what a waste of yardage of clothing on a beautiful woman. One of his old t-shirts would be better. What had he been thinking? Was everything he got her as hideous as this outfit? Well, he’d just proven the fact men can’t shop.

At least she was game about it and not complaining. Then he realized she was looking over his shoulder at the door.

“Naw, it’s not broken. It’s called a Dutch door. Haven’t you ever seen a split door?”

“Do I look Dutch to you?”

From the look in her eyes, he had a feeling she was talking about more than a door. Her silent agony slammed into him. What was it like to know absolutely nothing about yourself? He shoved the casserole into the oven and reached for her hands. He rubbed his thumbs over her wrists, studying her. “Naw. If I had to guess, I’d say…probably Italian.”

He guided her to the mirror in the parlor and sat her down facing it. Gently he traced her face, locking his eyes with hers in the mirror. His heart beat skipped faster.

“You have a heart-shaped face, rosebud lips, and your complexion is olive. Your cheekbones are high.” Slowly, he outlined each part with his finger as he spoke. “And I noticed the first food you went for was the most Italian-smelling one. You seemed to really enjoy it.”

She swallowed. “Have you known many Italian women?”

“Nope. You’re my first.” He cupped his fingers under her chin and tipped her face up. Leaning down, he kissed her, feeling her warm skin now apple scented from the bath and tasting mint from her toothpaste.

Easing her up, he brought her close, deepening the kiss. She slowly yielded to him, uncertain at first, but bolder as he held his patience. He liked she had to think about what she wanted to do. Fresh desire swept over him. His fingers gripped the worn fabric of her granny shirt, and he yearned to yank it off her but sensed that would be too much. There were too many unanswered questions at the moment. However, he was a patient man, and he knew she felt the sparks zapping between them as much as he did. He heard the low moan rumbling from her throat and saw how she closed her eyes and relaxed her face as yearning pulsed through her.

Author Bio:
Ryan Jo Summers is a North Carolina writer who pens romances with a twist. They may contain any number of elements: Christian, humor, mystery, paranormal, sweet, shape-shifting, or time travel. Her dad is a songwriter and his aunt wrote poetry so writing must be in the family genes.

She makes her home in a century-old mountain cottage, with a menagerie of adopted pets. In her spare time, she likes to gather with family and friends, paint ceramics or canvas, potter in the yard, bird-watching, or read, play chess, Mahjongg or work word-find puzzles. She might take her dog and head deep into the forests and rivers near her home to plot the next big scene or story. Like her dad's aunt, she writes poetry as a means to cope with life's pains.

She collects lighthouses, shells, driftwood, and anything to remind her of the shore.
