Summary:

1. What is the biggest influence/interest that brought you to this genre?
I was a fantasy writer before I read Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I devoured that book in one sitting after seeing it in a newsletter from Writer’s Digest. After that, I decided to look more into romance novels and ended up liking them so much that I shifted gears. My interests changed over time, and now, romance is my favorite genre to read and write. I had also realized I was writing fantasy romance and not just fantasy that would appeal to hardcore fans, which also prompted the switch to romance.

2. When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process(outline, plot, character names, editing, etc)?
Character names come to me naturally. When an idea pops into my head, I can see the characters so vividly that names are not hard for me to figure out. I love plotting my novels, but plotting is also the hardest part of writing a book. Coming up with title names, series names, character names, and basic plot lines are very easy for me. It’s when I get into the middle of the book that I have to sit down and map it all out and make sure my story has the proper flow. That’s when I pull my beta readers into the process. Sitting down with my readers who are also fellow bloggers and close friends, to go over the book is one of my favorite parts of writing a book. I love that I get to share that experience with them.

3. When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
I read anything and everything. I mostly gravitate toward romance because that is what I write and prefer to read, but before I found romance, I was a huge legal thriller and horror fan. I also like young adult, contemporary, science fiction, mysteries, and fantasy novels.

4. If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
I would want to co-author a book with Jamie McGuire since she is the reason I started writing romance. I think our writing flow would mesh well together. She writes a lot of books with bad boys and so do I. That would be a dream to write a book with her.

5. Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?
I have always been a writer. I was probably a story teller long before a writer. When I was about four or five, I was always making up stories, and when I got older, I wrote them down on paper. But I didn’t start to seriously write until about two or three years ago. I have not stopped writing since.
