Sunday's Safe Word Shelf: The Next Competitor by Keira Andrews

Summary:
If he risks his heart, can he keep his head in the game?

To win gold, figure skater Alex Grady must train harder than the competition morning, noon, and night. He’s obsessed with mastering another quadruple jump, and due to the lack of filter between his mouth and brain, doesn’t have a lot of friends. As for a boyfriend, forget it. So what if he’s still a virgin at twenty? The Olympics are only every four years—everything else can wait. Relationships are messy and complicated anyway, and he has zero room in his life for romance.

So it’s ridiculous when Alex finds himself checking out his boring new training mate Matt Savelli. Calm, collected “Captain Cardboard” is a nice guy, but even if Alex had time to date, Matt’s so not his type. Yet beneath Matt’s wholesome surface, there’s a dirty, sexy man who awakens a desire Alex has never experienced and can’t deny…

Note: This gay romance from Keira Andrews features opposites attracting, new adult angst, sexual discovery, and of course a happy ending.

This new version has been extensively rewritten, updated, and expanded into a new adult romance with explict on-page sex.

Author Bio:
After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, paranormal and fantasy fiction, and—although she loves delicious angst along the way—Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said:

“The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”

Promo Tour: Falling for Jordan by Liz Durano

Title: Falling for Jordan
Author: Liz Durano
Series: A Different Kind of Love #2
Genre: Adult Romance
Release Date: November 7, 2017
Summary:
No names. No numbers.

Just one wild night with a gorgeous stranger and then, they’d go their separate ways.

But what happens when her one-night stand turns into something more?
Some one-night stands are just that: one-night stands. But for transplant physician Addison Rowe, it means a baby and a story she’ll stick to about being a single mother – via a sperm donor. After all, she's got a professional reputation to protect.

But when building contractor Jordan O’Halloran returns to New York after a year spent building schools in Southeast Asia, Addison will need to decide whether maintaining appearances is more important than reuniting a father with the daughter he never knew.

But even if the answer comes easily, Addison will need to navigate through a maze of intercultural family expectations and an ex-girlfriend who hasn't yet let go of her first love.

*A light-hearted follow-up to the bestselling novel Everything She Ever Wanted, Falling for Jordan is the second book in A Different Kind of Love series that readers have called "moving," "riveting," and "emotional." While the book can be read separately, it's best appreciated when read after Everything She Ever Wanted, book 1 of A Different Kind of Love series.

“I texted you a few hours ago but didn’t get a reply so I thought I’d come by to leave a note. But the women at the front said they’d check to see if you were available,” he adds. “So what’s so important that you couldn’t just say in a text message?”

I take a deep breath. It’s now or never, Addy. Tell him. “That night we spent together? I got pregnant.”

He stares at me for a few seconds and I can’t help but notice how the room seems so quiet. “Excuse me?”

“I got pregnant,” I repeat.

“But we used protection that night.”

All three times we did it, I know. “Well, somehow it failed.”

“What happened to the baby?” he asks. “Did you keep it?”

“She’s ten weeks old.”

He looks at me in shock, blowing air between his lips. He’s quiet for a few moments and I don’t push it. It’s not every day some woman you barely know tells you that you got her pregnant. But then, looking like he does, I may not be the first either. I wonder if I should have had Kathy in here to act as a mediator in case things get testy or if he hyperventilates and passes out. But Kathy doesn’t know the circumstances of my pregnancy. No one does except me. And now Jordan.

“What’s her name?”

His question throws me off. For so long, I've had a different scenario replaying in my head, of a man who gets angry and then refuses to have any involvement with the child, not even caring to know if it's a girl or a boy. In my head, he simply tells me it's my problem and walks away. It's never been anything else.

Everything She Ever Wanted #1
Summary:
She's smart, independent, and heartbroken. He's cocky, a bit rough around the edges, and too young.

So she trades the bright lights of New York for the open road and ends up at the Pearl, a sustainable Earthship outside of Taos, New Mexico where she hopes to find out where she went wrong.

For woodworker Dax Drexel, the Pearl is where he retreats from the world to design his award-winning furniture. Unfortunately, the Pearl’s already got an occupant and she’s currently passed out on his bed, naked. He really should mind his own business but he can’t, not when there’s a gun in the living room, next to a tear-stained note that begins with, “I’m sorry I failed you…”

Join Dax and Harlow in a journey that readers have called “heartfelt,” “riveting,” and “amazingly emotional.”

Author Bio:
Liz's first foray into writing was back in eighth-grade when her steamy taboo serial was passed around during Homeroom and almost got her suspended. It took some time after that sudden burst of dirty inspiration in eighth grade, but Liz has since published ten books and countless short stories. She's the author of the bestselling novel, Everything She Ever Wanted and Loving Ashe, and is currently working on more stories about Dax, Ashe, and company.

Being with him comes at a price, however, and it’s not just jeopardizing winning the contest. When Denver’s ex stirs up trouble, Judah has to make a decision. Is Denver worth putting everything on the line for?

The Time of My Life is a steamy stand-alone MM romance with a sweet HEA. Please note trigger warnings for domestic abuse and rape. 97k words.

“You can be pretty charming. You had LaVine eating out of your hand within seconds.”

The corners of Judah’s mouth pulled up, and Denver’s heart skipped a beat. “And how did I do that exactly? Be specific on the details so I can nail my interviews, you understand.”

He was flirting. Judah was pretty irresistible even when he was being an ass, but cheeky and flirty like this? Denver’s insides were a fucking mess. Should he call him out on it? And ruin this moment, this incredible experience of having that sexy smile aimed at him? Hell no.

“Well, there was this bowing and hand kissing thing you did,” Denver said.

“Hmm. A bit much for the interview, don’t you think? Any other suggestions?”

“Smile.” It was all Denver could bring out, his brain turned to mush.

“Smile? You think a smile alone will do the trick?”

Denver swallowed thickly. “Well, it’s a pretty nice smile.”

Judah nodded, broadened his grin. “Okay, smile. Duly noted. Anything else?”

Denver gave himself a mental shake. “Compliment her. Women apparently like that.”

“A compliment. Something like ‘I love your eyes’?”

On instinct, Denver closed his eyes. “What color are my eyes?”

“What?” He heard the confusion in Judah’s voice.

“You told me you loved my eyes, so I’m testing you to see if you even know what color they are. Women will do that, you know. You have to be specific in your compliments.”

“Oh.” Judah was quiet for a few seconds. “Your eyes remind me of the ocean on a perfect day. I grew up in the city, but I’ve always had a thing for the ocean, for being out on the water. Even the ferry to Staten Island does it for me. Somehow, when I’m on the water, I feel calmer, more at peace and free. That’s what your eyes remind me of, of that feeling.”

Author Bio:
When she was a little tot, Nora’s mom got a library subscription for her. That, as they say, was that, and a lifelong love for books was born. Nora never stopped reading and doesn’t exaggerate when she says she devours books, rather than plain reads them. She started writing stories as soon as she could hold a pen, and wrote her first full book as a teen (on a typewriter!). It took her waaaay too long to follow her dream to become a romance author.

Nora writes M/M romance, because hello, sexy boys, and likes her men flawed, strong, and a tad broken. She appreciates a little kink, but insists on a happy ever after.
