Summary:
Truth is a powerful weapon…but explosives never hurt.

Sophia can run but she can’t hide. RedZone is on her tail and those of the six tech-augmented soldiers who escaped its clutches with her. If she could only focus on fighting her way to safety, she might live long enough to disappear. But it’s not just her own backside she needs to watch out for.

At her side is her boyfriend, Kyle. He’s the reason she found the courage to escape, and she’ll do anything to keep him and his secrets out of RedZone’s hands. Only problem is, since she was once sent to capture him, he has good reason not to trust her.

In fact, there’s not much trust to go around. RedZone keeps finding them, suggesting someone is a traitor. And if that’s not enough to recapture the group, the organization has a backup plan. One that will force Sophia and Kyle to choose between safety and risking everything one more time.

Warning: Contains killer robots, mutant college students, and dangerous super soldiers. And those are the good guys. It’s enough to make a rogue assassin wish she were taking her philosophy final instead.

1.  What is the biggest influence/interest that brought you to this genre?
I’ve always loved a good science fiction thriller and I’m fascinated by real science. Working on Revive and Resist let me explore both those areas. On the totally crazy sci fi thriller end, I could channel my love for things like the Terminator franchise into creating killer robots. But on the appreciation for real science side, I also read about and try building on some of the most interesting developments currently being made in fields like biomedical engineering.

2.  When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process(outline, plot, character names, editing, etc)?
Editing totally! There’s nothing more satisfying than taking your ugly, clunky words and misshapen plot and polishing it into something (hopefully!) readable.

3.  When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
My favorites are always books with a speculative element or romance. I know that’s really multiple genres, so it’s probably easiest to say I like books that are escapist, for whatever the reason. I want to be swept away.

4.  If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
Given my professed love for killer robots and explosions, it might sound kind of strange, but I would love to work with, or even talk to, Jane Austen. Her books have had such a profound influence on me. I love her subtle humor and social commentary. I feel like there would be so much I could learn from her.

5.  Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?
I’ve always loved reading, but it never occurred to me I could actually try writing a novel myself until I was in my mid-twenties. I’m not sure if that counts as later in life or not! It was really the weirdest experience the day I had that epiphany, when I went, “Huh, I have this idea. And, you know, someone has to actually write books. I could try doing that.”

Author Bio:
Tracey Martin grew up outside of Philadelphia, the lucky recipient of a drama-free childhood, which is why she spent so much time reading about other people's lives. It was while she was working on her doctorate in psychology that she had an epiphany--imaginary people are way more fun than real ones. And so she began writing. Never able to choose just one of anything, she currently writes both urban fantasy for adults and contemporary stories for teens.

She likes her coffee simple, her music epic, and her movies to contain explosions. A city girl at heart, she doesn't understand how she and her husband ended up living in New Hampshire, but writing keeps her off the mean, small town streets.
