Fool's Gold by Staci Hart

Title: Fool's Gold
Author: Staci Hart
Series: Hearts and Arrows #3.5
Genre: Fantasy, Mythology Romance
Release Date: February 10, 2015
Summary:
Life is never black and white.

It’s a fact Josie knows too well, right next to wanting what you can’t have. And even though Jon is her friend and colleague, he pushes those boundaries on the regular. There are times when she feels like she can’t escape him, and others where she doesn’t want to.

The tension twists tighter every time they meet, but Jon’s unavailable. Live-in girlfriend of years unavailable. As much as Josie cares about him, and as much as she wants more, his flirting is a cruel tease. Unfair. And she’ll push him away if she has to, if that’s what it takes to protect herself.

As far as Aphrodite’s concerned, Jon and Josie getting together is inevitable. But keeping them together may be harder than any of them realize, and what Josie thinks is her happy ending may just turn out to be fool’s gold.

Release Day Blitz: Stupid Hearts by Kristen Hope Mazzola

Title: Stupid Hearts
Author: Kristen Hope Mazzola
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary
Release Date: February 12, 2015
Summary:
I should have freaking known.
How dense can one girl be?
If it’s too good to be true, then it is.
If he’s too nice, smiles too perfectly, says all the right things, then he probably isn’t prince charming. Nope. Of course he’d be freaking married. And I didn’t see it.
So here I am, in a city that I hate doing a shoot I don’t want to do.
Suck it up, Jolene.
That’s what I have to keep telling myself.
It’s time to swear of smooth talking men and just focus on the only true loves in my life: photography and Dozer, my dog.

We walked through the marble infested lobby, got in the elevator and attacked.
Seth pressed me up against the mirrored wall, pulling my leg onto his hip. He lightly bit from my collar bone to my chin while I slowly rubbed his growing erection. He growled into my neck making my clit pulse with need.
“God, it’s been too long.” I huffed into his ear as he reached up my tank top and under my bra, tugging on my nipples just the way I loved it.
The elevator slowed, forcing us to pull away from each other, but just until we were behind the closed door of his suite.
I went right to the bed, slipped off my boots and stripped down to my bra and panties.
Seth groaned as he watched me slowly undress from the other side of the bed where he was standing already in his birthday suit stroking his erect member slowly. “Put your boots back on. Never leave them off, Jolene. Never.”

I guess you could say that writing is like my super power (I always wanted one of those). I am the lover of wine, sushi, football and the ocean; that is when I am not wrapped up in the literary world.
Please feel free to contact me to chat about my writing, books you think I'd like or just to shoot the, well you know.

Smokescreen by Ahren Sanders

Title: Smokescreen
Author: Ahren Sanders
Genre: Adult, Romance
Release Date: February 5, 2015
Summary:
Stella Sullivan
Bright. Dedicated. Loyal.
The day I walked into his boardroom, I had no idea my life was about to change forever. It was supposed to be a simple proposal that would catapult my career. The chance to help Hurst & McCoy save one of their flailing business lines seemed simple enough. However, I never expected that one look at Maxwell McCoy would have me grasping for control. He’s demanding, charming, powerful; most of all he’s beautiful, inside and out. As hard as I fought against the attraction, he broke down my defenses. But he’s hiding things. Even when secrets, lies, and greed threaten everything I have worked so hard for, I couldn’t walk away. There’s no denying, the moment my eyes landed on Maxwell McCoy was the moment I became his.
Maxwell McCoy
Rich. Brilliant. Powerful.
People only see me as CEO of Hurst & McCoy. The ruthless businessman whose mere presence demands respect. People don’t know I chose to leave a life I loved in order to protect my father’s legacy and reputation. When my company’s future was threatened, I had no choice but to seek assistance. The day Stella Sullivan walked into my boardroom was the day my heart started beating again. One business proposal, from the topaz-eyed beauty, changed my life. She tried to deny our unyielding chemistry, but I wouldn’t. I should let her go, but I didn’t.

The smokescreen I created soon comes crashing down, forcing me to fight for everything I love.

Stella groans lightly and rolls over. I’ve been watching her from my desk for half an hour, trying not to wake her. But as soon as she realizes my side of the bed is empty, she sits up dazed. Her head turns toward the bathroom and then turns to me.
“What are you doing?” she asks sleepily.
     “Working a bit.”
     “What time is it?”
     “A little after seven.”
“Why the hell are you up? Do you ever sleep?” She falls back onto my bed and the sheets slip down her naked body.
I jump to my feet and make my way to her side of the bed in a second. “Yeah, I slept, then I worked out, showered, and decided to work until you woke up.”
“You worked out? Showered? What the hell is wrong with you? I thought we weren’t going anywhere this morning.”
She throws an arm over her eyes and I take the opportunity to kiss the skin up to her elbow, then pull her arm down so she has no choice but to look at me.
“I didn’t go anywhere. I have a home gym down the hall. I showered because I was gross, and we are staying here this morning. We have a meeting at ten, but until then, it’s us.”
“You have a home gym? Where?”
“Yeah, babe, there’s about two thousand square feet you’ve not seen yet. Two more rooms and a gym.”
     “What?”
“Babe, you’ve only been here a few times, I haven’t had time to show you.”
“This is a whole lot of information for me this early, without coffee. Remember I’m not a morning person.”
“So you keep saying, but I love proving you wrong.” I kiss her softly and slide my hand under the sheets and down until it reaches her pelvic bone.
My fingertips run lightly back and forth from hipbone to hipbone until her breath catches. Every time I hear that small sound, I know she’s getting turned on. Then my hand slinks lower to her slick heat and I press one finger in, sliding her wetness back and forth. “You are the best morning person I know.”
“That’s because you give me orgasms before my coffee.”

What is the biggest influence/interest that brought you to this genre?
It was my love of reading. Story and plotlines have always run through my head when I finish a book, but the publishing industry was an enigma to me. So I just kept reading for enjoyment. Then one-day I was watching a morning program that mentioned all the mom’s on the upper east side of Manhattan reading ‘mommy porn’ on their e-readers. That piqued my interest. I picked up this ‘mommy porn’, which is now known as The Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy. This started my obsessive love affair with the Contemporary Romance genre.

When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process(outline, plot, character names, editing, etc)?
Character Development!  This includes names, families, physical traits, and personalities. And not only for my main couples. If you’ve ever read my work, you will notice I have a barrage of supporting characters that help contribute to my stories. I love creating them.

When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
I mostly stick to the Contemporary Romance genre. My favorite style of book is one that gives me strong characters, an emotional connection that bleeds through the pages, and a HEA.

If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
There are too many to list. My respect for each and every Indie Author runs deep. It takes courage, passion, and strength to put your work out to the public. But I’ll admit, one person on the top of my list is Kristen Ashley.
I do have a project in the works that is in early planning stages. Hopefully, I’ll be able to release information soon.

Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?
This journey came later in life. After college, I spent 13 years in the corporate world. Then in April 2013 I started my first book, Surrendering. It was published in November of the same year.

Author Bio:
Ahren spent her formative years living in an active volcano. There her family made collectible lava art. She studied rock collecting at the Sorbonne in France. There she met the love of her life-her pet pig Sybil. She returned to the states and started writing. She is happily married to a guy who used to live under a bridge and she met while pole-dancing. They have one amazing daughter.

Now, meet the real me. I grew up in the south and consider myself a true “Southerner”. Most of the special locations mentioned in my books are reflections of my favorite places. Living on the Florida coast, my family spends a lot time at the beach which is where I usually can be found with a book in my hand. I started writing my Surrender Series, in the spring of 2013 and have received incredible support from the Indie community. Throughout this year, I have been privileged to meet some amazing people that I am thankful to have in my life.

Author Bio:
I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. I started reading traditional historical romances when I was a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until I picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that my interest in romance novels became renewed.

But somewhere along the way, my tastes shifted. While I still enjoys a juicy Historical romance, I began experimenting with newer, more cutting edge genres and discovered the world of Male/Male romance. Once I picked up her first, I became so enamored of the authors, the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion of the books, I knew I wanted to write my own.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.

Author Bio:
Kim fell in love with historical romance when she was sixteen, and blames Kathleen Woodiwiss for that, since it was her The Flame and the Flower that got her hooked. Not long after finishing it, she sat down to write one herself and now, many years later, here she is.
Kim lives in New Jersey with her husband and their two children. When she's not pounding away at the computer keyboard, she does crossword and Sudoku puzzles, knits, breaks up the occasional wrestling match between the kids, and whenever she can find a few free minutes, she reads. She's also an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the New York Rangers. She also loves Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Elton John, and the Rolling Stones.

Exaltation by Jamie Magee

Title: Exaltation
Author: Jamie Magee
Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Young Adult
Release Date: February 10th 2015
Summary:
Fate is a twisted b*$#@, at least his was.

Was one soul worth the lives of millions? The quandary was one that Rydell King had no choice but to face. No matter the answer, the truth remained—innocence was created to destroy him. She was beautiful…extinguishing her to save his people seemed impossible, and maybe it was. As an immortal, his focus was to destroy the curse upon his people, as he devoured the emotion that bore him—exaltation, no matter the cost. She made him question everything.

Mercy had never been crueler.

Raven was not known for having a long attention span and apparently the Veil did not hinder her virtue, or curse, depending how you saw it. She heard music, a guitar.
Raven took a step toward it and as she did she felt a wave of electrical energy come over her. Her entire body was humming. She felt like she was waking up from a thick, languid dream. Like she was coming home. She had to get closer. Needed to get closer.
Right as she started to move toward a wicked cool looking house her father clasped her elbow.
     “Raven. Focus. Any more questions?”
“Can I find the dead musician? Oh. My. God. Is Elvis in here?”
If there was one thing Raven could do it was make her father laugh. She loved doing that. But right then she was doing it so she could slowly edge toward that sensation she was feeling. It made everything move slower yet intensified everything. She had butterflies for the first time in her life and she had no idea why. Yearning, it was so rich that it almost hurt.
“All right let’s practice getting out. Think of home.”
Raven didn’t want to go home. She had to chase this feeling. “But—I.”
“Show me you can get out,” he said with a raised brow.
Out Raven thought with a pout on her face.
As soon as Raven left the Veil the feeling left. She was never a fan of reality before but it had never felt as heavy as it did then. This blows.

Before he could question why her lips were on his, which only made him draw a deeper breath, feel the high all the more, he felt the rush instantly—pure bliss.
Vim, energy, Rydell was very aware of it all times. He felt hers pulling from him, yet it wasn’t. It was as if there was this unseen silk barrier between them—a division he wanted beyond.
One hand reached for her waist, the other to cradle her face, when he felt her vim easing her back, he turned her against the wall. Nothing short of an atomic bomb would be strong enough to force them apart.
His lips feasted on hers, his tongue intertwining, drawing in subtle breaths each time he could. His fingertips filtered through the long locks of her hair…again it felt like silk, as if there was some barrier between them. He could feel her, but not really…pressed against ecstasy but couldn’t reach it.
His hand slowly fell, gliding past her shoulder, carefully down the side of her chest.
     So responsive.
Finally reaching her hips he pulled her closer to him, forgetting where he was, what he was doing.
Right now all he cared to know was why this felt majestic…forbidden.

“It was a bloody dream…I saw you…I felt you. My chest ripped open with pure joy. Want,” he hung his head lower. “My virtue is my patience, or it was…until the likes of you came to mind, until I realized this pulse in my soul was because of you…I lost all willpower then, love. Every ounce.”
His hands gripped the mantel. “I was a fool,” his gaze drifted to the side. “I landed in this hell, forevermore trapped. Our fate seized.” He swallowed stiffly. “…I can’t feel anything here. I can’t focus.”

The last few hours flew by. Raven was warmed up enough and had seen Soren hop on the floor a bit ago to get himself loose.
He had made it a point to skate around her and give her that look. The one that made the girls around them scream like they were at a concert and the lead singer just leapt down into the crowd.
Raven found it hilarious they all thought she and Soren were really having some torrid love affair.
“All right. All right!” the DJ said over the mic. “I don’t know about ya’ll but I’ve been feeling a little sizzle in the air.”
The crowd screamed. Raven’s heart started to pound. She knew the spotlight was seconds away.
“Maybe a little young love, hmmmm?” the DJ prompted. “I’ve been told that someone wants the floor cleared!” The crowd whistled and roared as they started to clear away. “That’s right, clear the floor so this man can hold his woman.” Catcalls were heard from as far as the auditorium.
There were only a few stragglers on the floor so Raven started to pick up her skate. The lights went out which was her cue.  She rolled into the center just as the spotlight came on. This part was easy, a few spins and in and outs, but the whistles had already started.
The music they were using was a mix of almost everything. It started out with a slow beat set to a snap and a deep bass that pounded at the perfect moment. Raven knew the second Soren glided on the floor because the girls screamed his name along with ‘marry me.’ Raven glanced back as if surprised he was skating toward her.
He rolled right up to her, her back against his front. He reached his fingertips for her jaw and wistfully outlined her cheek as their bodies waved slowly head to toe. This routine started out sensual and you didn’t get any more sensual than that, two bodies moving in rhythm as one.

Raven spun in place and right as she did she stopped cold. What is it with this guy and dark places and crowds?  “Mystery man is here.” Right as Raven spoke he edged around the wall so you could only see half of him—not that the move made him look less hot, mind you. He was fit like Soren only taller, thicker. His hair wasn’t as long but it wasn’t short either.
“Where?” River asked as she glanced from the Firebird to Raven.
Raven spun back around. “The corner wall right where everyone and their momma are walking by.”
River furrowed her brow in his direction but then someone revved up an engine and her attention moved back to the firebird. “I told you to kiss him and put him in his place. Prey or predator—there are only two choices in this game, Raven.”
Raven sighed and rolled her eyes, games—screw games.
“Do what? What am I missing?” Kimberly asked.
“Nothing. I have to pass under the school to get to two of my classes and I always end up against this senior and he has a good time with that fact.” I kinda do too.
“Does he, like, grope you or something?”
“Not bad. I mean we are slammed into one another down there, but he’s put his hand on my hip and smelled my hair.”
     “Do what?” Kimberly almost shouted.
“Yeah, he knows he’s cute.” Walking sex.
“Which is why I told you to kiss him,” River said again, only partly paying attention. “You walk up to that boy and take control and he will get an attitude adjustment.”
“I don’t get you two,” Kimberly said. “Kissing a boy to punish him?”
“It’s the power struggle. Boys like him think they know a thing or two and just have to make us giggle to give them an in. You show them they don’t and they stop the BS. Then they’re the ones with the goose bumps and can’t think straight.”
“You want to handle this for me? Because I’m not about to make a fool of myself,” Raven said. “I don’t claim to be a master in that department.”
Kissing Soren was one thing. It was an act. Teasing a boy? She wasn’t mean enough to do that.
“Who does?” River said with a sideways glare. “It’s not how good you are, it’s the way you do it.”

Zombie Seed by PM Barnes

Summary:
The world has changed but there are just some things Claire can't let go of. Haunted by the past and visions of carnage, she tries to make sense of the current landscape.
This proves to be harder than expected with the addition of new challenges and new love.
Journey through the first installment of the post-apocalyptic series and find out what happens when nowhere is safe, not even your own mind.

Author Bio:
I'm a poet turned fiction writer, who also happens to be an avid reader. I've had a library card for as long as I can remember and more books than you can fit into a studio apartment.

I have hosted multiple events for poets, musicians and storytellers. I feel most at home with artist because of their quest to have a more profound understanding of things.

As an author I find it hard to escape the perspective of being "the reader", the observer. In this way, I am able to enjoy the stories as they unfold from my hands. It also means that I am very conscious of the emotions that I cultivate in my readers. I know how to provide suspense and build relationships that bind you to the characters.

What I really love about stories surrounding the post-apocalypse and specifically zombie tales, is that it gets to the crux of all of our fears. It speaks to our desire to keep anarchy at bay and of how scared we are at the depth of our own depravity.
My main goal as a writer is to entertain. That being said, if you learn anything new about yourself or the world around you in the process of reading my work, then I feel like I have succeeded in providing you with something deeper.
