Promo Tour: Everglades by Petie McCarty

Title: Everglades
Author: Petie McCarty
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Suspense Elements
Release Date: January 30, 2018
Summary:
Photojournalist Kayli Heddon is sent on an airboat safari for a photo essay and gets stranded deep in the Everglades with her ruggedly handsome guide. She is forced to learn some tough lessons -- namely, trust means everything in the dangerous River of Grass and a skilled partner can make all the difference in her survival.

Skye Landers takes the airboat safari gig as a favor to his cousin. He doesn't expect the governor's photographer to catch his eye, but Kayli Heddon is unlike any woman he has ever met. Skye knows he should keep his distance, but common sense goes out the window whenever he gets near her.

Unfortunately, Kayli thinks honesty is the most important thing in a relationship -- any relationship -- and Skye Landers is a fraud. When secrets surface from Skye’s past, Kayli and Skye are soon on the run from more than just alligators.

Leaping over palmettos and tree roots and dodging half-buried cypress knees, they raced for their airboat as the whine in the distance grew louder. Kayli recognized the whine as a second airboat. She couldn't stop running if she wanted to, Skye had a death grip on her hand.

"Tell me what's wrong," she shouted, "and why are we running?"

Twenty more yards and they reached the airboat. The approaching craft sounded closer by the second.

He dropped her hand to grab the bow line. "Get in the boat," he ordered.

She stopped dead. "No."

He whipped around with a fearsome glare.

"Not until you tell me why we're running." This was so unlike the man she'd come to know over the last two days at close quarters. He looked -- well, scared.

"Crane Tennapin is on his way here with drug runners to make a pick up."

She felt the blood drain from her face. "Who is Crane Tennapin?"

"Another cousin, now let's go." He pushed on the bow of the airboat. "I've got to get you out of here. I'll leave you at Sally's."

"I'm staying with you."

"You can't. I have to come back to help Crane."

The whine grew louder and closer.

She froze. "You're coming back to help a drug dealer?"

"Hell no!" he roared and softened his voice when she flinched. "Crane's in over his head. He got mixed up with the Colombians before he knew about the drugs. Now they're threatening to hurt him if he doesn't help with this drop."

He motioned her over and held out a hand. "Come on, come on."

"What if you don't get back in time?" She couldn't believe she wasn't scrambling into the airboat.

He had her by the shoulders in two steps and stared hard in her eyes. "I can't let anything happen to you." The emotion in his voice wrapped around her heart like long tentacles, and she couldn't pull free. She didn't want to.

Her arms flew around his neck, and he crushed her to his chest, his mouth hard against hers. A flood of emotion rifled through her unlike anything she'd ever felt in her life. She wanted to fold her soul into his and never let him go. She had wanted this kiss from the moment she laid eyes on Skye. She wanted it to last forever.

Precious seconds were squandered. The airboat whine grew louder, and his head jerked up. "Damn."

"There's no time to get me out." No way would she leave him, not with drug runners coming. She may never see him again.

He pulled back and gazed into her eyes. "You have to trust me."

She nodded. "What're you going to do?"

"Sink the airboat."

Promo Tour: Catch of the Day by Petie McCarty

Title: Catch of the Day
Author: Petie McCarty
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Suspenseful Elements
Release Date: January 30, 2018
Summary:
Cody Ryan gets way more than she bargained for on vacation when she enters the annual all-male Loon Lake Tournament and finds herself paired with a sexy Coast Guard captain.

Gage Connor needs a break from chasing drug smugglers off the Louisiana coast and heads to Alabama to do some fishing. He lock horns with Cody Ryan the moment he arrives at Loon Lake, and the sensual sparks fly.

The mayor of Loon makes up his own rules for the private town tournament. His knucklehead son plans to cheat to win the event, and his daughter just plans to cheat to win Gage Connor.

To further complicate matters, Gage is unaware Colombians stashed uncut diamonds on his borrowed bass boat before he left Louisiana, and they want their diamonds back. The Colombians are playing for keeps and will stop at nothing to retrieve their stash -- even kidnapping.

Holy cow!

Gage looked over Lila's head and saw Cody stomping toward the dock, a big Igloo cooler in her arms, fire in her eyes, and steam escaping from her ears. He swallowed hard and tried to pry free, but Lila would have none of that.

"Now you just hold still, cutie patootie," she drawled, "and let little ole Lila give you your good luck hug." She crushed her barely-covered breasts against his abdomen, the neckline on her tank top drooping almost to her navel.

Cody reached the dock and stomped so hard he could feel the vibration in the boards. Her glare could singe the fins off an alligator gar, and he had Lila stuck to him like a tick. He was a sitting duck.

Cody looked even madder now than when she left to get the rest of her gear, which could only mean...

She was jealous.

Of Lila.

Cody's glare deepened upon final approach.

He grinned for real.

Zeke Tumson, my ass. She likes me.

He stopped trying to struggle free of Lila and waited for Cody to get to the boat and the fireworks to begin. Lila felt his struggle cease and snuggled in closer, rubbing every inch of her front against him and laying her cheek on his chest. A week ago, Lila's antics would have elicited a very pronounced and noticeable reaction. Today -- he glanced down to check -- nothing. His gaze shot to Cody steaming down the dock. Had she done this to him?

"Mmmm," Lila cooed and squiggled her body again, "good luuuuck."

Cody marched mere steps away. When Lila purred, Cody hesitated for the span of a second, made a sharp left, stepped down into the johnboat, and proceeded to hook up her livewell. He waited a five-count. Cody kept her head down and fooled with the tubing attached to the cooler. He had to move. If he didn't, Lila would be in his shorts any second.

Maybe he should let...

Nope, bad idea. Cody would push him overboard later and drive off and leave him. Heck, she may already be planning to do just that.

He cleared his throat to be sure Cody heard. "Thanks for seeing us off, Lila," he said politely.

No reaction from Cody.

"I didn't come to see her off," Lila said in a snit. "Just yoouu," she cooed and rubbed her breasts against him again.

Cody missed it. She never looked up.

"All right, you get on back to your registration table, and let me get to my fishing." He took her shoulders and physically set her back.

Cody finished with the livewell and picked up a fishing rod.

Lila batted her eyelashes. "I'll be waiting when you get back, sugar. What say we have dinner tonight?"

No way was he answering that question. He smiled and stuck a foot out to step down in the johnboat. Lila chose that instant to hook her finger into his belt loop to tug him back.

Too late, Gage saw the butt end of Cody's rod push off on the dock cleat, and the johnboat shot back the full three feet of loose bow and stern line.

His sneaker stepped out into thin air, and he dropped like a rock.

He hit the water at an angle, and Lila followed him in, her index finger still hooked in his belt loop.

Release Tour: Duke du Jour by Petie McCarty

Title: Duke du Jour
Author: Petie McCarty
Series: Lords in Time #1
Genre: Regency, Time Travel Romance
Release Date: January 15, 2018
Publisher: Wild Rose Press
Summary:
Jared Langley, present-day Duke of Reston, tumbles into an abandoned fountain on his ducal estate and travels back in time to the year 1816. There, Reston servants and local villagers think him a dead ringer for his namesake and rakehell ancestor—the seventh Duke of Reston, gone missing at the Battle of Waterloo. Unfortunately, Seven got mixed up with French spies out to assassinate the Duke of Wellington, and an unwary Jared ends up in their crosshairs.

Lady Ariana Hart has loved Jared Langley, the seventh Duke of Reston, since she was twelve years old, until the night the rogue broke her heart. Given up for dead, her rakish neighbor makes a miraculous return from Waterloo—only Jared shows up a changed man and reignites all the feelings Ariana had long ago buried.

Jared is in a race against time. He must waylay the suspicions of his quirky servants and neighbors, get to Wellington before the French spies do, fix his fountain—before Seven shows up—so Jared has a way home, and definitely not fall in love with the irresistible Lady Ariana.

“Did I hurt you?” he asked, as he pulled the boot free.

“No!” she blurted.

His gaze swung up to her face, and she forced a smile. The boot removal had affected her as much as him. How would he ever make it through the night? He frowned slightly and then set to work on the other boot, holding her other knee and reigniting the heart palpitations all over again.

She made another swipe at the coverlet with her palms and almost fell over sideways. He fought back a grin. Misery loved company, and the sight of her flushed cheeks and bright eyes caught his breath in his throat.

Jared straightened and placed the second boot by the first next to the bed. “Are you feeling all right? You look a bit flushed. Maybe the ride was too much for you.”

He leaned in and placed the back of his hand against her forehead, ostensibly to check for a fever, and she whimpered at his touch. The intimate sound had his mouth feeling dry as sand, and he desperately wanted to touch more than her forehead.

His gaze locked with hers. Her eyes darkened.

Oh no. This could be trouble. A misstep here could ruin her…Or keep me here forever.

Still he did not move his hand. His gaze held hers. “You feel warm.”

He heard his voice go low and raspy.

Great. Let her know she has the upper hand.

Was she warm or was he? Every vein and artery in his body pulsed with the need he had denied since the day he’d met her.

“I’m fine,” she said softly.

He had to fight this magnetism, or he would have her ruined in short order.

“Are you?” He leaned closer.

Her look of befuddlement tugged at his heart, and he fought the lust roiling in his chest. He couldn’t read the look in her eyes. Did she want him, too? Oh, what did it matter unless he kissed her?

She leaned forward, whispered, “I think so.”

“Let me check.” He pressed his lips to hers.

Every nerve ending in his body exploded with pleasure. Primal desire had overwhelmed him in the taproom after he had saved her from the drunken farmer, his primitive nature taking the lead.

My lady. Mine.

He had not thought twice. Jumped in like the knight in shining armor she raved on about. He had wanted to be her knight.

His lips did not plunder, as she no doubt expected. He gentled his kiss so as not to frighten her, locked together in this room as they were. He brushed his lips across hers, caressed, hoping to make her want him half as much as he wanted her. He leaned back to stare into her eyes. He shouldn’t have started this. He would not be able to stop.

“This way lies disaster,” he rasped, “for both of us.”

“Maybe,” she said breathlessly, “but could I please have another?”

Release Tour: Betting on Cinderella by Petie McCarty

Title: Betting on Cinderella
Author: Petie McCarty
Series: Cinderella Romances #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 18, 2017
Summary:
Garrett Tucker inherits his grandfather's casino empire and steps into the reclusive billionaire's shoes as the "Prince of Vegas." His first act is to buy a bankrupt casino in Biloxi. When he discovers embezzling in his new operation, Garrett goes in undercover. His prime suspect is the new finance supervisor—the spitfire brunette who stole his heart at first sight.

Andi Ryan moves to Biloxi to care for her godmother and takes a job as finance supervisor for the renovated Bayou Princess casino. She discovers someone is skimming from the till and starts her own investigation, worried she will be blamed for the theft when the new owner discovers her godmother has a gambling addiction.

A rival Vegas competitor has sent a spy in to ruin the Bayou Princess, and Garrett and Andi are forced to work together to prove her innocence and discover the identity of their casino spy.

Garrett mentally kicked himself. He had gone and scared her.

Too much. Too soon.

But he couldn’t make himself move. He could lie here forever with Andi in his arms.

She wriggled from his grasp to sit up. “Um . . .”

“What?”

She looked too uncertain.

Not good.

He was okay with, “Not now, but maybe later.

“I can’t,” she whispered.

Good thing he was sitting down. The jangle of fear that hit him could have knocked his knees out from under him.

“Can’t or won’t?” he forced out. No maybes on this one.

“Both.”

What the hell? Can’t and won’t?

All his uncertainties flooded back. Flora had said Andi and Peters were just friends. Was that friends with benefits? And what about that damn Drakos pawing her last week? No, he wouldn’t let those doubts crowd them here on the couch.

“Too soon?” he tried.

“Partly.” She looked away, and his heart sank amongst the growing heap of doubts.

“There’s someone else,” he said flatly, working to keep his expression blank and the hurt at bay.

She met his gaze square on then, no doubt trying to muscle her courage. “There’s something I should tell you.”

Damn.

“I’m—” She exhaled hard. “—no good at it.”

What? Is that all?

He fought back a grin of pure joy. “I’ll give you lessons.” He pulled her back for another kiss.

She shoved at his chest. “No. I don’t think I should.”

She flinched at his expression, and he worked to smooth his scowl.

“Go ahead. Spit it out.” Even he didn’t like his tone. “You’re sleeping with someone else, right?”

He should have done his homework before he went off half-cocked with all the flowers and balloons, trying to woo her.

“No, and I should slap you for that, suggesting I’m loose enough to go out with you while sleeping with someone else.”

“Then what the hell is it?” he shouted, forgetting all about Flora at the back of the house.

“I’ve never done it before!” she shouted back.

“What? Slapped someone?”

“No, you jerk. Slept with someone.” This, she didn’t shout.

He froze, right down to his heartbeat, and stared at her bright-pink cheeks. Could it be? Was she? A virgin?

“Holy smokes,” he wheezed.

She stared at her untouched glass of wine. “I’m not saying you and I will never,” she said softly.

Relief, warm and desperate, allowed his muscles to finally move. He gently traced the line of her cheek with his finger, a lump forming in his throat at the touch of something so rare and priceless.
“Glad to hear that.” He brushed his lips across hers, light as a whisper. Once. “My little sweetheart.” Twice. “My precious—” Three times. Always a charm.

“You’re not mad?”

Those big blue eyes stared up at him with an innocence that made his too-experienced heart ache with emotion.

“Mad?”

Should he tell her he wanted to go outside and howl his joy at the moon? To yell to the world what a lucky son of a gun he was? His Andi would be his Andi—proprietary, like his stock portfolio. All his. No one else. A primal sense of possessiveness overwhelmed him.

“No, sweetheart, not mad. Glad,” he managed, then tugged her close and let his kiss show her exactly how he felt.

“When you’re ready,” he said against her lips. “Only when you’re ready.”

He had finally said and done the right thing, for she grabbed his shirt and laid an eye-crossing kiss on him.
