Saturday's Series Spotlight: Midnight Series by NJ Cole

Midnight Caller #1
Summary:
Rebecca Summers enjoys pleasing herself with the curtains open. When a mysterious stranger calls to tell her that he is watching, fantasy becomes reality as she begins to perform for him. Following his instructions over the phone while he watches from afar, she finds herself craving more.
Oliver Durant has always been drawn to humans to exert the dominance and control his kind needs to feel alive. While secretly observing her and calling nightly, he can’t seem to get enough of Rebecca, whom he refers to as butterfly. His urges with her are stronger than the need to dominate, as he is driven to possess her in every way.
Both of their worlds are turned upside down when they finally meet and she agrees to enter into a Dominant/submissive relationship with her Midnight Caller.

From the first page to the last this book never slows down.  From Sir’s first phone call, “That was beautiful, butterfly.” to Sir’s identity reveal and the repeat of the words that started it all, the passion and excitement never lets up.

Rebecca and Oliver bring us into a world that very few of us will ever experience.  I’m not just referring to the BDSM lifestyle or the sci-fi element either, but one of complete and utter trust in another person.  We all have those in our life that we trust but as you read the developing relationship between butterfly and Sir, a whole new level of trusting emerges.

We meet Oliver and his family and learn how his kind blended in to life on Earth. We also meet Rebecca through Oliver's eyes at first and then through her own point of view. A true read of trust and desire that evolves into love and passion. Even though “trust” is a huge factor in this story, so much so that it could almost be considered a character in itself, we also see friendship, humor, and more importantly how what started out as sex and exhibitionism evolved into passion and love.

You may not want to take this book to the beach with you, as it's hot enough by itself, but you definitely will want to read this incredible journey into the minds of both the Dominant and Submissive of this budding partnership.

Midnight Eternal #2
Summary:
In this sequel to Midnight Caller, Oliver Durant finally feels complete. With his butterfly now wearing his collar, he has invited her to share in the world of his unconventional family, as well as in the masterful scenes at his BDSM club. As their bonding rapidly progresses, butterfly feels safe and welcome with his kin and kind. The longer they are together, the more she starts to become like him, offering Oliver the hope that he will have his mate eternally.
While Rebecca Summers is new to the BDSM lifestyle, she adapts quickly and serves her Master well, pleasing and giving him everything he asks for. Additionally, she loves spending time with his family, who have given her the sense of belonging she’s yearned for since her parents’ tragic deaths. She can’t imagine denying Oliver anything, and even asks to undergo the genetic transformation to become one of his species.
Seemingly, all the pieces are in place, paving the way for their perfect life until days before the event when they are given some news that changes everything. Can these two find their happily ever after? Or does fate have other plans?

I went into this story knowing it would be an entertaining read because I've loved every word written by this author, however, I didn't really expect it to surpass Midnight Caller, but it has. In all aspects, character development, emotions explode all over the place, and of course the hotness level has completely blown the thermometer off the wall.  Now I will say that this is not for everyone, it is a Dom/sub story throughout and I know not everyone enjoys or understands the lifestyle. Also, as good as ME is by itself, you really do need to read Midnight Caller first.  Quite frankly, if you haven't read MC yet, what are you waiting for?  Oliver and Bec are definitely worth a look, or two, or three, or . . . well, you get the idea.

Midnight Caller
I knew it was just a matter of time before I would claim this woman as mine, and what’s more, she would beg me to take her.

Midnight Eternal
“Am I hurting you?” he whispered. I shook my head, maintaining eye contact. “Then what is it, my butterfly? What is it you need? Speak.”
I blinked once, then slowly opened my eyes, looked directly into his, and moaned, “More. I need more.” He gave me what I wanted. Pulling all the way out, he entered me again quickly and with much more force.
“Yes,” I groaned, my eyes rolling back in my head. “Mmmmm, yes.”
