Book Blitz & Blogger Review: Sugar Fighter by Charity Parkerson

Title: Sugar Fighter
Author: Charity Parkerson
Series: Sugar Daddies #1
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: June 25, 2018
Summary:
Zeke is the older man. The richer man. The man who plans to give Korey the world.

As MMA’s Light Heavyweight champion, Zeke’s million-dollar matches and multi-million-dollar sponsorships have given him the freedom to do whatever he likes. It pleases him to spoil Korey. Before Zeke’s best friend Charlie was deployed two years ago, he made Zeke swear he’d care for his brother Korey if anything happened to him. When Charlie is killed by a roadside bomb, Zeke takes the young college student in, determined to give him everything he requires to succeed. He never expects to end up hoping he can keep Korey under more than his roof. He needs Korey beneath him.

If Korey had been in his right mind after Charlie’s death, he would’ve turned down Zeke’s offer. By the time he realizes his mistake, he’s already addicted to Zeke’s powerful presence. He never meant to end up dependent on the man’s smiles and hot glances. The money, Korey could live without. The man has him hooked. There’s only one problem—neither man wants to cross the line from friends to lovers, ruining what they have.

Sugar Fighter is a short introduction to a new series by Charity Parkerson, Sugar Daddies. This series will feature male/male May/December romances where the men are hot, rich, naughty, and don’t like to be told no.

When Zeke promised his best friend that he'd watch out for his little brother he never expected Korey to make such an impact in his life.  When Korey's brother is killed in service he takes Zeke's offer of help never expecting to crave more.  Will they risk what they have for a chance at what they want?

May/December romances have always appealed to me as I am a firm believer that age is but a number and when it misses the mark I'm always left doubly disappointed, well that isn't the case with Charity Parkerson's Sugar Fighter.  Zeke and Korey have a special bond, is it only because of their sorrows over losing Charlie or is there really something more there?  Will the risk of going from friends to lovers really be worth another possible loss?  I think you know my answers to these questions: you'll have to read to find out because I don't do spoilers.  But trust me, you'll enjoy discovering Zeke and Korey's journey in this little gem set in the middle of the MMA world.

Could Fighter been even better if we had a little more build-up and backstory? Sure, but sometimes short and fast-paced is all that's needed.  Sugar Fighter was fun, entertaining, put a smile on my face, and I can't ask for anything more when reading a story, short or long.  Definitely one to check out.

Thrash by Charity Parkerson

Title: Thrash
Author: Charity Parkerson
Series: Hard Hit #3
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: October 26, 2015
Publisher: Punk & Sissy Publications
Summary:
An out-of-control hockey star.
A ruthless agent.
One needs discipline.
The other, release.

Henley has been perched on the edge of self-destruction for years. Drugs, alcohol, and dark fetishes are only a few of his vices. When the only man capable of controlling him turns his back for good, Henley finally crosses the line, losing everything.

Kieran Steele is considered one of the most ruthless agents in the world of sports. His cutthroat tactics have never failed to land the deal of every athlete’s dreams. When he sets his sights on something, he always gets what he wants. What Kieran wants most is Henley.

For years, Kieran has watched Henley from the sidelines, fantasizing. Now, Kieran is the one person who can give Henley what he needs—ice beneath his skates and pain in his bed. But is one man’s obsession stronger than the other man’s demons?

“Henley Theriot was arrested for assault last night outside Darker Set. We contacted the nightclub, best known for catering to people living alternative lifestyles, and the owner refused to comment as to whether the onetime Stanley Cup hopeful had been inside the club before the fight leading to his arrest. Several witnesses claim Theriot was visibly intoxicated.”

Letting loose a loud curse, Henley tossed the TV remote across the room. His meeting with league officials ended an hour earlier. They’d wasted no time calling him to carpet after his arrest and suspending him for the next four games. He didn’t need to keep listening to the blonde newscaster to hear that bit of gossip coming up next. Things were just getting started. Of course, Henley was the only person who knew that part. The league had also ordered he undergo a full drug screening. One he’d been escorted directly to from the meeting. He wouldn’t pass. His career was over.

Now, with half a bottle of prescription pills down, his life probably would be soon, as well. Not that he cared any longer. With that thought still fresh on his brain, Henley tossed back two more of the white tablets, hoping for some relief. There could be no doubt he was losing everything. Henley didn’t particularly care to remember it tomorrow. A knock landed on his door. The sound bounced off the walls of Henley’s brain, making his eyeballs ache from the vibration. Of course, it also could’ve been the chattering of his teeth. When had that started? The room spun, and the banging increased.

Closing his eyes, Henley swiped his hand over them as the world titled on its axis. When he opened his eyes again, he was on his knees. Funny, he hadn’t felt the fall. He tried pushing himself back to his feet, but his body refused to obey. That was fine. Going down onto the soft, welcoming carpet of his bedroom’s floor, Henley curled into a ball. Maybe he’d take a nap—forget everything for a little while. No matter how hard he tried, Henley couldn’t focus on anything. His eyes fell closed, shutting out the spinning blur. Whoever was banging on his door wasn’t giving up. They could go fuck themselves. He was done with making nice for the day.

Everything went black before color and light came rushing back to his senses then falling into inky darkness again. Henley caught short glimpses of Alex hovering over him with panic in his eyes. A small part of his brain wondered over the man’s presence, but Henley couldn’t cling to the question or reality. Hell. He wasn’t even sure if Alex was really there. All Henley wanted was to sleep—peace.

“Oh, hell, no. Don’t you go to sleep, Hen. You’ll fucking die if you sleep, man.”

Henley tried to snort at the claim, but nothing happened. What did he care? Bring on death. He hadn’t really been alive in a long time. Only the mild curiosity over Alex’s presence kept Henley from giving in. Alex kept talking, saying things Henley couldn’t understand. The sound of his voice got farther away. Henley sighed in relief. Now he could sleep.

Blow by Charity Parkerson

Title: Blow
Author: Charity Parkerson
Series: Hard Hit #2
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: August 14, 2015
Publisher: Punk & Sissy Publications
Cover Design: Punk & Sissy Designs with photography by Taria Reed
Summary:
When the cover model who’s every man’s fantasy…
By most people standards, Ryker is considered odd. As the only child of a notorious conman, he understandably has a few trust issues. Most men are willing to overlook his parentage and strange personality since these days he’s better known as one of the hottest cover models around. Ryker knows his appearance pays the bills, but it’s also brought grief, stalkers, and one gorgeous cop into his life. There’s one tiny problem with his new-found obsession, Grady—other than being a part of organized law enforcement—he also happens to be straight.

Meets a cop who’s unlike any other man…
Grady knows exactly what he wants in life. He has the career he’s always dreamed of, and plays the field, catching every woman he sets his sights on. That is until he meets Ryker. Something about the more-damaged-than-not cover model brings out Grady’s protective side. Ryker also does something else to Grady. He makes him burn. The last thing Grady expected was to fall for another man, but no one makes him feel the way Ryker does. He can’t get enough. Unfortunately, he’s not the only one.

Their passion will blow everyone away.
When Ryker’s ex threatens their newfound love, Grady will stop at nothing to hang onto the man he never knew he wanted, and the bond he’d die to keep.

“Wow, Cop. You’re really uncomfortable right now, aren’t you?”

He shook his head even as his lips refused to shape a lie and deny it. “After the Plethora incident, I was worried about you.”

Ryker’s stare was too knowing. It did nothing to abate Grady’s anger. “Do you make a lot of late night house calls like this one?”

“No.” Fuck. Even Grady heard the desire in his voice. What the ever-living fuck was he doing here? Ryker took a step toward him. Grady’s brain screamed for him to step back. His feet refused. In their defense, they were probably listening to his dick. It was closer after all, and hard as steel.

“What a mess you’re creating for yourself right now, Cop. You’re as straight as they come.” Obviously, Grady was experiencing some fucked up form of tongue paralysis. He couldn’t speak. Ryker shifted even closer until barely an inch separated them. He hadn’t realized until that moment how much taller Ryker stood. Grady had to tilt his head back to hold the other man’s gaze. “Now’s the time to chime in,” Ryker said, taunting him. The roaring need to do something, anything, rose up and overtook Grady’s brain before taking control of his body. Without his permission, Grady’s fingers gripped Ryker’s T-shirt and tugged.

Ryker didn’t obey. He didn’t budge a single inch. Instead, he held Grady’s stare as he slowly lowered his head, forcing Grady to acknowledge what was about to happen. He wanted to run away. God only knew how much he didn’t want this, except he did, and he couldn’t stop. When Ryker’s lips finally met his, Grady sucked in a deep breath. The room spun, making him realize it was the first true gulp of air he’d taken in since his knuckles brushed the wood of Ryker’s front door. With his eyes closed, his mind steadied. As Ryker’s tongue swiped Grady’s bottom lip, he forgot everything, including his inhibitions. Not who he was kissing. Grady was incapable of forgetting that detail. Ryker was too freaking amazing. The brush of lips on lips was gentle until Grady let Ryker in. His back hit the door as Ryker’s fingers dug into his jaw, holding him in place, and consuming him. There were kisses, and then there was whatever this was.

“You’ll regret me,” Ryker promised as he pulled away before attacking Grady from a different angle.

“No,” Grady said against his mouth, recognizing the truth. Maybe this wasn’t his life, but it was his moment. He’d wanted no other man before Ryker, but he did want Ryker.

Ryker’s mouth moved to Grady’s throat. “I’ll regret you.”

Heart's Chord by Charity Parkerson

Title: Heart's Chord
Author: Charity Parkerson
Series: Ugly Eternity #5
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: July 6, 2015
Publisher: Punk & Sissy Publications

***Author Note:  This is an Ugly Eternity bonus story. It can be read as a standalone.***

Summary:
Even though he already has more to do than there are hours in the day, Finn has no problem adding Austen to his life. The sexy former marine is the only good thing that’s happened to Finn in a long time.

For Austen, Finn is the perfect man. If he sees anything lacking in Austen, he never shows it. But falling in love with Finn changes everything for Austen. All the insecurities he’s faced since he has come home from deployment confined to a wheelchair come rushing back to the surface. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t let Finn in.

When Finn decides he’s had enough of not being enough, and his dreams come crashing down around him, he’s ready to walk away from everything for good. But he never counted on Austen’s reaction to losing him, or how far his Ugly Eternity family will go to make his dreams a reality.

“You need some posters or a mural or something on the ceiling in here,” Finn mused aloud after a few minutes.

“Why’s that?”

Finn squinted at the offending blank ceiling, attempting to picture the perfect art as he answered. “Judging by your incredibly sexy body, you spend a lot of time in here. You need something to focus on. There’re some studies that suggest visual stimuli is directly linked to physical health.”

“What do you think of these studies?”

At the curiosity in Austen’s voice, Finn rolled onto his side and up onto his elbow. His gaze swept down Austen’s body, taking in every hardened line and scar. His cock lengthened as hunger rose inside him. This man was under his skin. There wasn’t one particular attribute he could point to in order to explain his insane desire to touch Austen, but it was there. When he met Austen’s stare, there was no way Finn could hide his desire. “I think a little visual stimulation has never hurt anyone.”

Austen’s mouth quirked in one corner at Finn’s claim. “The view in here is looking pretty damn good right now.”

Finn wanted to kiss him. His lips tingled with longing, but sometimes, Austen didn’t invite Finn’s touch. He didn’t know how to explain it. There were moments when Austen’s expression remained closed, shutting Finn out—times such as now. Tearing himself away from temptation, Finn settled down beside Austen once more, going back to staring into space. “I can’t hang around all day, but maybe I can figure out something else. Maybe there’s a book somewhere about images for every environment.”

He felt Austen tense beside him a split second before Austen’s mouth came down upon his—hard and hot. Surprise gave way to lust in an instant as Finn opened for him. Finn flattened his palms against the floor beside him to keep from reaching for Austen. His skin itched to be closer, but he didn’t want to ruin the moment, and it seemed like he always did somehow.

Heart's Duo by Charity Parkerson

Title: Heart's Duo
Author: Charity Parkerson
Series: Ugly Eternity #4
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: May 18, 2015
Publisher: Punk & Sissy Publications
Summary:
What began as a half-baked scheme to help his brother win the man of his dreams has become a tailspin Joss can’t escape. His actions and secrets have kept him from making any real claim on the woman who captured his attention months ago.

But secrets have a way of coming to light.

Maddox has known from almost the beginning Joss has been playing games with his life. What he doesn’t realize is how deep the man’s deception runs. When Cade and Dylan’s wedding reception brings everyone together in one place, the entire story is revealed with a little help from Benton.

And Hell hath no fury like a man with nothing left to lose.

The implosion Joss has braced for has finally come to pass, changing everything forever. With Jamie and Hawke in another country, enjoying their happily ever after, Maddox is about to teach Joss a valuable lesson in toying with other people’s lives.

What happens when bad decisions, manipulations, good intentions, and misunderstandings combine? It’s an Ugly Eternity.

How the pair didn’t feel all the eyes upon them, Benton couldn’t explain. They were standing close enough Benton could make out every letter of Jamie’s name spelled out in permanent ink across the inside of Hawke’s forearm. Knowing Jamie, as he did, the man couldn’t care less who was watching them. He didn’t relent until Hawke was laughing so hard no sound emerged. Benton went back to watching Maddox. There was something about the entire situation niggling at that back of his mind. Something slightly off. Maddox was so focused on the pair he’d yet to notice Benton, leaving him free to puzzle it out.
This man had cheated on Hawke, throwing everything away. By all accounts, he should’ve let this go a long time ago. He’d broken things off and moved another man in. His expression said none of those things. Benton glanced around, Hawke and Jamie were still dancing. Sophie and Joss were in the corner having an up-close discussion. How had Joss came to be with Sophie over the last few months? None of it made any sense. If Maddox had put Hawke out and moved Joss in, why would Maddox watch Hawke instead of Joss? Benton’s gaze returned to Maddox. Maddox smiled at the sight of Hawke’s laughter and Benton knew. It was exactly like someone ripped back the curtain, revealing the real story.
     “Oh my god.”
Maddox visibly startled at Benton’s cry. He couldn’t stop. The truth slammed into him with such power Benton couldn’t contain it. It brought him to his feet. Maddox lifted his glass to his lips, taking a sip. Benton wondered if the man was attempting to hide his emotions before focusing on him.
“Didn’t see you there,” Maddox said after a moment. Benton ignored Maddox’s statement of the obvious.
“Oh my god,” Benton repeated, pointing at him. He didn’t care if he looked like a madman.
