Release Day Blitz: Austin by Felice Stevens

Title: Austin
Author: Felice Stevens
Series: Man Up #1
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: April 5, 2018
Cover Design: Reese Dante
Summary:
I can make it by myself. The only rules I follow are my own. Love? I learned that lesson the hard and painful way—it wasn’t right for me. Sure, sometimes it gets lonely, and I wish I had a man to hold. Who’d love me. Want me. Treat me with respect. Yeah, I dance in a club, but that doesn’t mean I’m easy. Or a fool. So you, sitting in the back, watching me? I know what you want. You want me. In your bed. Under you. But I say no. It doesn’t matter how many presents you give me.

I’m not falling for you. I know who you are. But you don’t know me. You don’t know Austin.

I lifted my chin. “I’m sorry, but customers aren’t allowed in here. You have to leave.”

Ignoring my statement, he closed the door behind him and stood, his face impassive, expression hard and fierce as if hacked out of granite.

“Did he hurt you?”

The softness of his voice surprised me. It didn’t reconcile with his large, imposing presence. Forgetting my previous statement, I gazed up at him from my seat, and not wishing to be at a disadvantage, stood.

“You saw what happened?”

“I did.” A twinkle lit his startling blue eyes. “You handled it perfectly.”

“Fucking asshole. He’s lucky I didn’t kick him harder.”

“The kitten has claws, I see.”

A smile curved his stern mouth, and he looked younger and impossibly attractive. A rush of desire hit me, but I couldn’t fall prey to it or him.

“I’m not a kitten, and if you think I need a protector, you can forget it. I can take care of myself.” I’d had to all my life.

“I don’t want to be your protector.” Fire replaced the smile in his eyes. “Did you like what I sent you?” He licked his lips. “Are you wearing it?”

I should have been scared. Being alone with him here could be dangerous, even though my instinct told me he’d never hurt me. But whether to listen to my body or my heart, I hadn’t yet decided. Wordlessly, I took several steps until I stood only a few feet in front of him. I peeled back the top of my shorts, exposing the frothy lace. The sparkling crystals caught the light. He reached out with a finger, then halted in midair.

“May I?”

My dick shifted in my thin shorts, and though it was impossible not to notice my rising desire, he waited for my response.

“No.”

Promo Tour: Everglades by Petie McCarty

Title: Everglades
Author: Petie McCarty
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Suspense Elements
Release Date: January 30, 2018
Summary:
Photojournalist Kayli Heddon is sent on an airboat safari for a photo essay and gets stranded deep in the Everglades with her ruggedly handsome guide. She is forced to learn some tough lessons -- namely, trust means everything in the dangerous River of Grass and a skilled partner can make all the difference in her survival.

Skye Landers takes the airboat safari gig as a favor to his cousin. He doesn't expect the governor's photographer to catch his eye, but Kayli Heddon is unlike any woman he has ever met. Skye knows he should keep his distance, but common sense goes out the window whenever he gets near her.

Unfortunately, Kayli thinks honesty is the most important thing in a relationship -- any relationship -- and Skye Landers is a fraud. When secrets surface from Skye’s past, Kayli and Skye are soon on the run from more than just alligators.

Leaping over palmettos and tree roots and dodging half-buried cypress knees, they raced for their airboat as the whine in the distance grew louder. Kayli recognized the whine as a second airboat. She couldn't stop running if she wanted to, Skye had a death grip on her hand.

"Tell me what's wrong," she shouted, "and why are we running?"

Twenty more yards and they reached the airboat. The approaching craft sounded closer by the second.

He dropped her hand to grab the bow line. "Get in the boat," he ordered.

She stopped dead. "No."

He whipped around with a fearsome glare.

"Not until you tell me why we're running." This was so unlike the man she'd come to know over the last two days at close quarters. He looked -- well, scared.

"Crane Tennapin is on his way here with drug runners to make a pick up."

She felt the blood drain from her face. "Who is Crane Tennapin?"

"Another cousin, now let's go." He pushed on the bow of the airboat. "I've got to get you out of here. I'll leave you at Sally's."

"I'm staying with you."

"You can't. I have to come back to help Crane."

The whine grew louder and closer.

She froze. "You're coming back to help a drug dealer?"

"Hell no!" he roared and softened his voice when she flinched. "Crane's in over his head. He got mixed up with the Colombians before he knew about the drugs. Now they're threatening to hurt him if he doesn't help with this drop."

He motioned her over and held out a hand. "Come on, come on."

"What if you don't get back in time?" She couldn't believe she wasn't scrambling into the airboat.

He had her by the shoulders in two steps and stared hard in her eyes. "I can't let anything happen to you." The emotion in his voice wrapped around her heart like long tentacles, and she couldn't pull free. She didn't want to.

Her arms flew around his neck, and he crushed her to his chest, his mouth hard against hers. A flood of emotion rifled through her unlike anything she'd ever felt in her life. She wanted to fold her soul into his and never let him go. She had wanted this kiss from the moment she laid eyes on Skye. She wanted it to last forever.

Precious seconds were squandered. The airboat whine grew louder, and his head jerked up. "Damn."

"There's no time to get me out." No way would she leave him, not with drug runners coming. She may never see him again.

He pulled back and gazed into her eyes. "You have to trust me."

She nodded. "What're you going to do?"

"Sink the airboat."

Promo Tour: Stronger by Suzanne Jenkins

Title: Stronger
Author: Suzanne Jenkins
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: March 23, 2018
Summary:
Karen Pruitt and friends came to New York on a long weekend holiday sponsored by the airlines she’d worked for, meeting FBI Special Agent Michael Calder at a bar in Greenwich Village. “I couldn’t help hearing your accent,” he’d said, a lame pick up line at best but truthful.

“We’re from England,” she replied, smiling, sweeping him off his feet.

His love for her took him by complete surprise. Not looking for a relationship, Michael was twice her age and a confirmed bachelor, which he later realized he should have stayed. Grumpy, crotchety, irritable were words used to describe him around the office. Everyone noticed the difference on Monday; he was glowing.

“Isn’t it the woman who is supposed to shine from within?” His boss, Jeremy Fisher asked, the other agents laughing at Michael’s expense.

“I don’t know, but I can tell you, whatever this is, I like it.”

But after eleven years, and three children later, Karen never adapted to life in New York, and she fled back to England without Michael. Broken-hearted, Michael isn’t alone for long, dating a woman young enough to be his daughter, who is obsessed by walking in New York Fashion Week.

When his team puts a mobster behind bars, no one in Michael’s circle of colleagues and family will be safe. Will Karen be able to forgive him when his job threatens her life?

Chapter 1
Leaving her three children home alone as usual, she’d get in an early morning run. The sun was just below the horizon, a thin line of brilliant magenta fading to purple then to black overhead. Seeing the beginning of a beautiful morning was worth losing the sleep. It was about an hour earlier than her usual run. She had so much work to do that day that when her bladder woke her, she would take advantage of it and get an early start. Rain was in the air; she could smell it, a mossy, metallic scent, and the little bit of light at that hour lit a boiling sea, the whitecaps rolling in from as far as the eye could see.

“Maggie,” she whispered to her fourteen-year-old daughter, the oldest, “I’m going to go out for a run. I’ll be back in an hour.”

“What time is it?” Maggie moaned, her arm thrown over her forehead.

“Just six. I’ll be back in an hour,” she repeated.

Kissing her on the cheek, Karen Calder tiptoed out of the bedroom, out of the house, and into the frozen mist. Close to Cherry Lane, which lay between the house and a waist-high stone wall separating it from the Atlantic Ocean, she paused at the opening to a path that wound down the dune to the beach. She’d taken the path a hundred times, a thousand times, but at that hour the tide was still up a little far for a run.

The lane dead-ended just beyond the last cottage, so traffic was rarely a problem outside of the few year-round residents. A lone car, a dark, nondescript sedan, was parked down a bit behind her, but the lights flicked on, and it drove past Cozy Cottage. Even from a distance, the driver looked like a caricature, an Elvis impersonator, with a thick head of hair and dark glasses—odd for dawn. A cloud of exhaust in the cold trailed behind the car. Karen pulled her scarf up higher, laughing.

“People are so funny,” she muttered before stepping back onto the cobblestones.

Pacing her steps along the dusty lane, the air was cold enough that she could see her breath. The way stretched out ahead of her. It took a full mile to warm up, each step torture even for Karen, who was in excellent physical condition, and she longed to return home to her warm bed. She fought the battle to keep going until her muscles finally warmed up. Her breath matched her pace: ha in, na out, ha na, ha na, ha.

Running in the morning forced order upon her life—first caring for body and mind made her a better woman, leading to a better mother, friend, and colleague. Singleness was growing on her after two years, and she had no desire to integrate a man into her life with her three children. They were thriving, too.

The warm-up almost complete, no matter how many years she ran for health, that mile mark lurked ahead of her, and when she passed it, it was like magic. Legs limber, her body temperature comfortable in spite of the cold, Karen increased her speed, breaking into a sprint that she’d maintain for the next five miles.

Her scarf was up over her mouth, and it was soon saturated with condensation, so she pulled it down again, the cold air hitting her wet chin. In that maneuver, she was distracted, and he came at her from behind, grabbing onto her arm, knocking her to the ground with a blow to her head, and before she could scream, her mouth made contact with the pavement, teeth jarring, the taste of blood, and within seconds, she was out cold.

Release Tour: Victorian Town by Nancy Thorne

Title: Victorian Town
Author: Nancy Thorne
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, Mystery, Time-Travel
Release Date: March 28, 2018
Summary:
Abby Parker planned out her whole life: complete her final year of high school, go to college, get a job, move away from her insane family, stay best friends with Jessica.

But, that was before she broke into the nearby tourist attraction and unwittingly answered a call from a centuries-old spirit who dragged her into the 19th century.

Now she must solve a Victorian mystery without getting herself killed, or worse, spend a lifetime trapped in the past, leaving behind everyone she loves and altering their lives forever.

When she meets gorgeous Benjamin, the future looks a lot like wreckage.

Martha and her father walked arm in arm into the line of the Grand March while I sat and searched the room for Ben, just in case he'd changed his mind.

There must have been over a thousand people mulling about, dressed in the most beautiful clothes I'd ever seen. My mind flashed once more to Cinderella, but of course that was just a fable. Who'd want to be rescued by a prince anyway, unless it was Harry, and he's taken. Although, I had to admit it, how great it would be to have someone sweep me away from my home now and then.

My thoughts continued to drift until the Grand March came to an end. Applause sounded through gloved hands, muffled. I watched Martha and Dr. Edgecombe steer themselves between the many twosomes.

Piano chords and single notes played a rhythmic pattern and I recognized the song as a waltz. I couldn't remember how I knew this, but knew it nonetheless. One-two-three, One-two-three.

The woman I'd met on Main Street earlier in the day, the woman with the guard geese, sat next to me. I didn't recognize her at first, though. She was dressed in an emerald green gown, and three feathers towered above her thick, curly black hair. All that hair was squished under that frilly cap?

"So nice to see you again," she said. A truly magnificent evening. A multitude of colors paraded past.

"Truly," I said, placing my fingers along my cheek to expose the ring. She noticed it right away, but the reaction I hoped for didn't materialize. She only asked again about Little Current and exactly how long my train ride had been, and if I traveled from the north, south, east or west.

What direction is the future? Martha waved her hand and smiled as she and her father swirled in front of us.

The day was beginning to feel long and I was no closer to the significance of the ring. "Please excuse me," I said to the woman as I stood.

She remained seated and with an attitude of defeat said, "Of course, my dear."

I walked over to the front of the hall and stepped outside. The ring slipped easily off my finger.

I knocked on Jess's door, hoping her parents were still at work so we could talk freely. I had gone to eighteen seventy-six this time without waiting for her to come to my place like we'd planned, and the truth is, I felt guilty about it. She opened the door and stepped outside.

"I've only got about twenty minutes. I told you on the bus I've got practice tonight. Why didn't you text? What's up?" We sat on her porch steps.

"Oh yeah, I guess we were just on the bus."

"What's going on, Abby? You're acting really weird."

"I forgot about your practice."

A realization came over her. She stood abruptly. "How could you forget when I just told you? You went back there, didn't you? You went back without telling me."
