“If there’s some problem, well, I can—”

“You’re the problem,” he interrupted, looking into those eyes as pure as spring water. Suddenly he found himself unable to hold back. The truth crashed through the barriers Charles had tried to reinforce, taking shape word by word. He spoke with a broken, ravaged voice, his heart on his sleeve for once. “Your presence makes me nervous. You turn me into something I’m not. If you only knew the way I think about you, you’d take off running and never stop instead of hovering around me, robbing me of peace.”

He pulled away from the table, reducing the already minimal distance between them, but the servant stumbled backed in alarm.

“My Lord…”

“May I touch you?”

Stunned, Dorian stared at him. He kept backing up until he bumped into an antique oakwood highboy. He barely suppressed an expletive, but Charles caught the unpronounced word on his lips—lips the boy was biting in an effort to hold back.

God, Charles wanted to bite those lips so badly.

“Say yes. Let me touch you,” he continued, taking advantage of the moment to approach the scullery boy. His enormous limpid eyes filled with panic, but the temptation flickering in them was stronger, making them fluid, honest. Brimming with desire.

A nod of agreement, lips parting as he released a sigh, and there was what Charles had been wanting—his complete surrender. Do what you want.

And he did.

He plunged his fingers into the boy’s thick hair. He took hold of it, running his fingers through it, then grabbed as much as he could in both hands and began slowly pulling to make Dorian look up at him.

He studied everything there was to see: his long lashes, the delicate curve of his nose, his irises behind half-closed lids that couldn’t help but look straight back at him. And those lips that were seemingly designed to drive him mad.

His fingers longed to touch them, but the courage wasn’t there. Instead, he started gradually, from a safe distance—he began stroking his forehead, slowly making his way down, tracing the curve of his cheek until he got to his jaw. He still didn’t have the audacity to actually touch those lips, but he sure as hell looked! His eyes were glued to that half-opened mouth, pink and impertinent, and that tongue hiding behind a row of even teeth.

“My Lord…”

“Quiet,” he mumbled, stomach in knots. “Don’t talk or you’ll spoil everything.”

Mercifully he shut up. He stood there helpless in Charles’s hands as the marquess finally did what he’d been wanting to do ever since that unbearable longing had first reared its ugly head—he brushed his thumb against the boy’s lower lip, then the upper one.

Saliva moistened his fingertip and Charles wiped the excess away on the servant’s skin. But that was only the beginning. His index finger, so close to the target, slipped in between his parted teeth, sliding over his moist tongue, ending up in the torrid embrace of a scorching breath.

And still that wasn’t enough.

His middle and ring fingers slid into Dorian’s mouth. Charles pushed them as deep as he could, imagining he was plunging something entirely different in there.

Dorian accepted his fingers without resistance. Stress and the pain of his hair being pulled were evident on his face, but his eyes… Oh, heaven have mercy—the boy’s eyes were misty with a savage desire, like those of a starving man. Like a man willing and able to do anything.

“If you want me to kiss you, close your eyes,” Charles whispered, choking on the words.

Release Blitz: Treacherous Seas by LM Brown

Title: Treacherous Seas
Author: LM Brown
Series: Merman & Magic #6
Genre: M/M Romance, Paranormal
Release Date: June 11, 2019
Publisher: Pride Publishing

Summary:
Caspian, the Atlantean God of Justice, has devoted his eternal life to protecting the merfolk. He has no time for romance, not even when the merman he now watches over is his former lover reincarnated.

Phoebus, a merman living in the sunken city of Atlantis before the Atlanteans were banished, never intended to fall for Caspian, the most promiscuous of all the gods. Yet, when Caspian offers him immortality, Phoebus doesn’t know if he can pay the price, even if refusing means breaking the heart of a god.

Back in the present, Marin remembers the love he once had for Caspian, but he’s not the same merman now. Caspian might have loved him as Phoebus, but he knows the god cannot give him what he needs.

Marin doesn’t want Caspian’s protection. He wants revenge, and he is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice to get it, even if it means breaking Caspian’s heart a second time.

“Caspian, there you are.” Cari breezed into the room and settled herself onto the chaise. “I’ve been searching everywhere for you.”

Caspian sipped his wine before answering his sister. “Well, now you’ve found me.”

Cari helped herself to a glass of her own. “Since when do you travel to this part of the world?”

“I needed some time alone,” Caspian replied. Rafe’s jealousies had pushed him to his limit today, so he had escaped to a small province in Italia for a little peace and quiet. Hiding from his priest wasn’t difficult, but avoiding his sister was another matter entirely.

“Rafe?” Cari asked.

“You know I don’t like it when you poke into my head.” He managed to block most of the immortals from his mind, but his sister appeared to have the ability to bypass all his defenses. He supposed it came from being the Goddess of Prophecy.

“I didn’t,” Cari replied. “But when I checked your palace, he was ranting about some merman you’d fucked. I simply drew my own conclusions.”

“I didn’t fuck him.”

“Rafe seems to think otherwise.”

Caspian rolled his eyes. “Rafe was present in the room the entire time. He is well aware of what we did.”

Cari huffed. “Did you ever think that your priest might not get quite so jealous if you didn’t make him watch you with other men?”

“The merman was having trouble breaking his mating fever. He came to me for help, we broke his fever and he returned to the ocean. That was it.”

“What was his name?”

“Who? The merman?”

“Yes, him.”

“Phoebus. Why do you want to know?”

“Just curious. I spoke to Mother this morning.”

“And what did she have to say for herself?”

“She told me Medina had slipped you a love potion.”

“Apparently. She added something to my wine, but I don’t know what. She was probably bluffing.”

Cari laughed briefly. “Don’t you know by now that Medina never bluffs?”

“Well, it doesn’t seem to have had much of an impact on me. Probably she isn’t as good at brewing up mischief as she likes to think.”

Cari sipped her wine. “You never did figure out the difference between a love potion and one that simply inspires lust.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean that if she’d given you the latter, which is what she hands out to most who seek her services, you’d be fucking that young merman right now. A true love potion, on the other hand, takes time to work, just like real love takes time to grow.”

“What are you saying? You think I’m going to fall in love with someone? The merman?”

“Like it or not, you are about to discover what falling in love is like.”

“I think I’ll let that particular experience pass me by, thank you all the same.”

“You seem to be laboring under the mistaken belief you have a choice in the matter.”

“I do.”

Cari finished her glass of wine and poured herself another. “I took a peek into your future after I spoke to Mother.”

“I suppose telling you I don’t want to know about my future would be pointless?”

“It would.”

“Very well. Tell me what you saw, and if I don’t like it, I’ll do what I need to so I can change it.”

“You can’t alter course mid-stream.”

“Says who?”

“Fate.”

“I don’t believe in fate.”

“It doesn’t matter what you believe in. You’ve met Phoebus, and been intimate with him, just hours after drinking Medina’s concoction.”

“He only sucked me.”

“That’s more than enough to trigger the potion. Chances are, if it’s one of Medina’s brews, the touch of your hand to his would have been enough.”

“I’m probably never going to see him again,” Caspian said, even though the thought of a second encounter with the merman made his heart race.

“I assure you, you’ll be seeing him very soon. He’s a nice man and I think he’ll be very good for you.”

“Why are you and Mother so eager to see me settled down with just one man? I’m perfectly happy as I am.”

“Are you?”

“Yes.”

Cari shook her head. “When you’ve fallen for him, when you’re head over heels, desperately in love with him, you’ll know what perfect happiness is.”

“Oh, please.” Caspian rolled his eyes.

“You’ll see.”

Blog Tour: Keeping Cade by SE Jakes

Title: Keeping Cade
Author: SE Jakes
Series: Crave Club #1
Genre: M/M/M, Menage, LGBT
Release Date: May 27, 2019

Summary:
Protection has its price, but so do fantasies…

Fantasy Week happens twice a year at Crave, and it’s always a big hit—a way to live out your wildest fantasy in a safe, sane, and consensual manner.

But when Cade comes in with his Fantasy Week invitation, he’s not happy about it. He’s stoic as hell and his preferences don’t seem to match his fantasy at all…and yet, despite that, he enjoys himself with Tegan and Vic. At least at first.

When it becomes glaringly apparent that the fantasy isn’t something Cade’s comfortable with, it’s confusing for the men he’s been paired with, and Tegan and Vic put a stop to the scene immediately.

What Cade doesn’t know is that Tegan and Vic are not only co-owners of Crave, but they’re also owners of a mercenary group, Gray Ops, that’s run out of Crave. They’ve also been circling each other for years… but nothing sparks until their session with Cade.

What happened in Room 4 is something none of the men can forget…but it’s got nothing to do with a fantasy and everything to do with blackmail. Can Tegan and Vic help Cade keep his secrets, while keeping all of them safe at the same time? Because the threatening to spill out aren’t only Cade’s…

*This series is set in the MEN OF HONOR world, in the bar called Crave from Bound By Honor*

“Am I being chauffeured or can I take my own truck?” Cade asked as they walked out the back door of Crave, leaving behind Oz’s yells of “I can’t promise what I’ll do if you leave me alone with him.”

“We’ll drive you,” Tegan told him.

“Why don’t you just carry me across the threshold of the fight club when we get there?” Cade muttered.

“Didn’t know you needed that level of romance,” Vic said seriously. “I’ll keep it in mind.”

Cade sighed heavily and got into the back seat with Vic, while Tegan drove. He guessed it was for protection, and arguing wouldn’t change a damned thing. He needed to preserve his strength anyway.

Vic handed him a Gatorade and a PowerBar. “Eat up.”

Cade muttered, “Fucking starving and this shit tastes like cardboard.”

“Fight first, then I’ll get you a goddamned buffet,” Vic promised.

“There’s a McDonald’s on the corner,” Cade pointed out hopefully.

“You had an entire pizza recently,” Vic reminded him.

“Recently to me is the last hour.” Cade bit into the PowerBar and stared at Vic. “I think this went bad.”

Vic frowned. “They can’t go bad.”

What is the biggest influence/interest that brought you to this genre?
I’ve always been interested in writing M/M stories -- in some of my very first books (my Sydney Croft co-write series) featured a 6 book M/M  subplot and that was published by Random House beginning in 2007.  I also included several M/M subplots in my Stephanie Tyler series as well.  But ultimately, what pushed me into the LGBTQ writing community was the mainstream romance community itself, and an idea that I had for an M/M book that would become Bound By Honor, my first MM with Samhain publishing.

When writing a book, what is your favorite part of the creative process(outline, plot, character names, editing, etc)?
Well, it’s definitely not plotting (total pantser here!) -- but I love character names and backgrounds.  My characters walk onto the stage, fully formed.  I don’t know where they come from but I’m so grateful they’re there, waiting (usually not so patiently) for their turn.  From there, I try to just sit back and follow their lead.  It’s their story, and I try to do them justice.

When reading a book, what genre do you find most interesting/intriguing?
I try to stay away from the exact genres I’m writing (which is MM romantic suspense / action-adventure) but that’s my first love.  I’ll read thrillers instead or serial killer books (fiction and non) and rock star bios.  But give me a good old contemporary romance, and I’m yours.  Because honestly, when I read them, the authors make the plot and the stories appear effortless and I get sucked in and I’m like “I can do this!”  But no, I can’t--what seems simple really isn’t.  And I always end up killing or bribing or otherwise causing grave danger to someone by the end of Chapter 1, so it’s not really my forte.

If you could co-author with any author, past or present, who would you choose?
Well, I’ve co-authored already, with Larissa Ione and it was a fantastic experience, so I know that you really have to fit with the person you’re writing with. And to that end,  I’ve got a couple of people I’m in the process of making plans with so...them!  I promise I’ll tell you when things are firmed up.

Have you always wanted to write or did it come to you "later in life"?

No, I always wanted to (first story was when I was six years old, written during a blackout and titled (shockingly!) “BLACKOUT.”  LOL!  I loved to read and write, but I was always told I could never make a living writing.  Seriously--no one ever said differently, so I tried out different things (Borders Books Manager, went back to school for my MA in English Lit and MAT in Secondary Ed) and taught Middle School and College.  And I wrote nothing during that time that wasn’t school related.  But everything changed when my daughter was born--she was very, very medically fragile and we spent months in the hospital.  When it became apparent that I wasn’t going to be able to go back to work, I knew what I was going to do.  I’d been reading romance novels--a nurse handed me one when my daughter had her first of many major operations and I lived in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with her for 3 months (seriously - they started giving me the employee discount in the cafeteria!).  I realized that I could only deal with happy endings from books at that point, and I went into writing with one goal:  If I could help one person sitting by a loved one’s bedside escape mentally when they couldn’t physically, I’d done what romance novels did for me during those three months.

Author Bio:
SE Jakes writes m/m romance. She believes in happy endings and fighting for what you want in both fiction and real life. She lives in New York with her family and most days, she can be found happily writing (in bed). No really…
