Blogger Note: This is the first time I've ventured into The High Republic timeframe in any form so I can't speak to it's connection to anything before these graphic novel collection nor any connection to the new Disney series, The Acolyte, so I'll just review as is. (EDITED NOTE: I have since discovered the chronological order and that I have read a couple out of that order. However, like the movies long as you are able to read a particular story arc together the rest isn't that important, just something to keep in mind.)
So much amazing storytelling that is perfectly suited for the SW universe we all know and love. There are species and worlds we're familiar with but also plenty of new ones to explore. Just as I did when the prequels began, I was fascinated to see the Jedi as a whole and to see them in their natural habitat, as it were. I would say in THR we see them serving the light but being a bit more on the edge when it comes to the dark.
I'm not going to go into too much detail to give anything away but I will say that it was nice to see newly Knighted Jedi Keeve Trennis dealing with fear on many levels but especially her fear of not being good enough, not being ready, so often the newly Knighted we're use to seeing in the prequel and Clone War eras mask those fears with an overshadowing sense of "Finally! My time to shine".
Cavan Scott has definitely pulled me and I'll be reading more of this newest generation of Star Wars.
